GSP did exactly what he needed to win. That's all that matters. Alves is very dangerous standing and he made the right choice. He used his strengths and took away Alves stregth. Perfect game plan.

Name me some recent GSP fights that were exciting, none of them were as good as Ruiz fight with chagaev was. I appreciate GSP skills and talent, I used to watch him in the early TKO and UCC, plus I met him in clubs and bars and he is a very social down to earth guy, I've got nothing against him and imo, he's the number 2 p4per and the less likely fighter in all the sport to lose unless he steps out of his division ( even Fedor has more credible challengers left ). It just that I'd much rather see him switch back to the striker-wrestler he used to be than the pure wrestling style he uses now for wich I don't care much (save from the Fitch fight, I rewatched it and you were right, it was a very good and exciting performance)
