What do you guys think? Will Mosley cut an arm off or will that not be enough and he'll go with a leg instead?

Man, Shane doesn't find it easy to make 147. I know he was using it as an excuse, but he blamed the second loss to Forrest on his struggles to make welter.

Mosley is too old to be cutting this much weight. He will not survive 12 rounds.

At this stage of the game I can't see how Mosley can make 140!

He will not come to win but to make his one last big paycheque. This is completely a financial decision.

This sucks! I'm rooting for Mosley all the way! If would be funny if Pac gets KTFO.

Agree with the financial take, and he can't cut that much weight and beat Manny, no way.

Shane has turned down more money than any fighter in history perhaps, and I'm talking mega millions, and that divorce most likely ate his financial lunch.

Mosley has enough skills and chin to beat Pacquiao. By the time they enter the ring Mosley will be a middleweight. He knows that...and Pacquiao too. Pacquiao will make a decision this weekend if he takes the Cotto fight or not. Cotto stays firm in not going lower than 145 lbs. So if I were Pacquiao, I'll take the Mosley challenge. As a Cotto & Pacquiao fan I want to see both facing each other, but no lower than 145 lbs so it can be a title fight for Cotto's belt.

Thing about Mosley, compared to ODH, for example, is that he's more muscle bound. This leaves more room for weight loss without weakening himself.

Even at 154 and 160 ODH was never very mucsle bound. Mosley seemed to generally gain his weight by adding muscle.

So basically, I think ODH has a bigger frame than Mosley. Mosley will need to cut muscle and it would weaken him, but it might not be as unnatural as if he were less muscle-bound at his current weight.

Still, 140 does seem very low.

I don't wanna see Mosley - Pac for fucks sake, just get on with PBF-Pac

I think it's the other way around. It's harder to lose muscle mass than it is to lose flab and I think it would weaken him even more.

Roy Jones is a PRIME EXAMPLE of this, Although his Weight Loss was MORE Extreme than what Mosley's Talking about Doing...Still, this ISN'T a Good Idea for Shane, ESPECIALLY Since he's Nearly 38...

Mosley should have never offered to drop to 140. If this fight happens Pac will have 2 fight's tarnished over weight. First Oscar and now possibly Mosley.

I can't see any reason why Pac would not take this fight now.

Mosley should just retire, or wait in line.

Like has been mentioned Shane might need to lose an arm to make 140. Maybe Jin got one of his arms in the divorce settlement?

It seems to me that Shane is more concerned about his legacy than money. I read his full interview on fight hype.com and his main concern was picking up the 140lb belt he never won and the p4p belt again. Shane could have just accepted the 143lb offer but wants the 140lb belt for his legacy and that is why he decided to do it.

Also Shane easily gave into Pac's financial demands without any arguments. I know he went through a divorce and all, but I still think legacy is his prime motivation here, because he could make just as much money fighting Cotto, but he isn't even trying to do that.

She wanted half, so she got an arm and a leg. She also got his balls but at least he got to keep his dick.

Is there a limit as to how low a weight a champion can agree to defend his belt? I doubt this.

  28. *Z*

*Z* WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

Nope, he just has to come in under the limit. Anything from 141-147 is welterweight. 147 is just the limit.

that's a bold move. shane mosley is a tough motherfucker and it wouldn't surprise me if he still beat pacquiao at 140. it would do a lot for his legacy as well. especially for all the dullards who complained about him skipping over 140 and tszyu for the delahoya fight.

I feel like arum will still push hard to steer pacquiao toward cotto where top rank will make out like bandits.

LOK I'll eat your asshole alive

    Shane can do it

SHane never really IMO belonged at 154, 147 was ok but he added weight from lifting

I bet he can get to 140 still and be strong
