<roottag> UFC supremo Dana White has finally lost the plot — by claiming Floyd Mayweather Jnr's comeback is NOT a big fight.

White is well-known for his outbursts but his latest rant will not go down well with Team Mayweather.
Money is scheduled to return to the ring against Juan Manuel Marquez on September 19, which also happens to be the same night UFC 103 will take place.
And White believes his mixed martial arts outfit will eclipse the undefeated American's first bout since December 2007.
He said: "It's a fight people really aren't interested in.
"I love boxing but it is in big trouble. This next fight with Floyd isn't a big fight."

White is right! Nobody gives a sh*t about Floyd/Marquez except a few hardcore boxing fanatics. The Floyd/Marquez fight wasn't even selling at all which is why Floyd pulled out purposely so the fight can happen on a mexican holiday.

Agreed but he does have a point here. Floyd/Marquez wasn't selling tickets well at all. I heard this from guys on here. And Floyd is supposed to be the biggest star in boxing today.:dunno:

 

Now, it would be nice if Dana White became a boxing promoter. We sure as hell would have a helluva card packed with exciting fights.

 

My first reaction to this was: Dana White should shut his mouth.

Then I realized: he's just saying what's on his mind like the rest of us do when someone asks us something.

Then my next reaction was: the idiots who keep sticking a mic in front of his mouth and reporting this crap should go and do something useful.

But then I realized: they wouldn't be reporting it if it didn't get a reaction like this every time they reported it.

Who gives a fuck what Dana White says! Why do we keep biting every time?

 

It isn't a big fight. It's a comeback fight against a safe opponent. He's calling it like it is. I agree with that part. The part I don't agree with is boxing being in trouble.

My opinion is that it's guys like Mayweather that ruin boxing. It's clear as day that boxing isn't about being the best anymore. Gone are the days where the best fight the best. Champions fight once or twice a year, guys retire with 40 total fight or less. It's just stupid. Boxing is not what it once was. There is no denying that.

 

For the record, Floyd was the one who started the shit talk about the UFC. If he can dish it out and should be able to take it.

 

I actually like Dana White's bluntness. It may be contrived. Hell, it might even be an act. But the dude never sugar coats anything or takes the easy route when answering tough questions.

Personally I agree that Floyd's comeback isn't as big a deal as it should probably be. Nothing wrong with that thought.

White throws the F Bomb around like it's going out of style, but Lesnar flipping off the crowd is a bit of a different animal.

Somthing tells me that as much as Dana White doesn't want a blurring of the line between MMA and Pro Wrestling by antics like Lesnar's, there still a part of him that knows Carwin-Lesnar suddenly becomes a huge bout thanks to Brock's middle fingers.

 

I don't think Dana cares that much about this MMA/Pro Wrestling comparison just as long as his UFC events are selling out and making big ppv numbers. He does realize as does everybody else that Brock was a superstar before he came into the UFC and that was solely because of Vince McMahon and the WWE.

If there is anything you can't talk shit about in the UFC it's the match making. They dont' feed you scrubs until you're 30-0 like they do in boxing. Look at Bisping, he's the poster boy for UK MMA. They could have fed him the Leban's of the world for years but they put him in with real guys, like Hendo and even Rashad. Now he's got 2 losses in his young career.

 

What would he pay them?

 

Klitschko's are white european..who don't live or spend much time here..they have not spent enough time in the States to build a fan base...
