Sensible move, Haye would never beat Vitaly. Valuev will be difficult frankly, but winnable.

    So, Haye's managed to side-step both Klitschko's?

It is a smart move. This will no doubt incense the Klitschkos to the point where they may not be willing to ever do business with Haye again...however, beat Valuev....and then Haye has the elusive WBA belt that the Klitschkos require to complete their heavyweight title collection. Thus, a Haye-Wlad/Vitali fight becomes even bigger.

Other factors.....Valuev is far easier to beat, and Nov 7th is probably a better date for Haye as it gives him greater time to recover from the injury that cancelled the June date with Wlad.

    Haye quoted in The Sun:

"I have a big grin on my face.
"I have finally signed a contract to fight Valuev on November 7. All that needs to be confirmed is the site.
"But I feel wherever the bout takes place it will be a complete sell-out and I just can't wait to start training again."

"The reality was that I would not have been in control of my own destiny for quite a long while if I had signed the contract the Klitschko management group were putting in front of me.
"Basically they would have been able to tell me when and who I fight for quite a while to come.
"This way, when I beat Valuev later this year I will again be in control of my own destiny."

Haye's a loudmouth chicken sh*t like Floyd Jr. F*cker avoided both Klitschkos, all the while talking big sh*t and wearing stupid ass photoshopped shirts of himself standing over their bodies. Pussy! Valuev will f*ck him up hopefully.

I'm amazed that Valuev would fight Haye to be honest. It does make a Haye vs Wlad/Vitaly more interesting if he beats up Valuev.

Sure, Haye's the pussy yet it's the Kiltshko's who put a 10 foot list of conditions to make a fight with him

I think if you watch the interviews with Wlad after he "fought" Chagaev, and you start to think back about the kinds of things Vitali said to Corrie Sanders right after Wlad got knocked out, you realize that
    (1) Haye has pissed off the Klit brothers in a way that no one else has ever been able to do. Wladimir was talking semi-psychotically about how he was going to punish Haye for 12 rounds, etc., etc.
    (2) Vitali & Wlad have each other's backs. Big time. They are just as angry about something done to themselves as to their sibling. They act as a team in controlling the division & in avenging fights gone wrong.

So although I know the status quo will be "Haye is a chicken, fuck him" (and this may be exactly the case), I can DEFINITELY see Vitali purposely making this negotiation a fucking horror for David Haye after what has happened. If you read the ESPN article, you see that Haye never actually signed the contract, and never really agreed to the fight in any tangible way. They were still negotiating, but Vitali's camp intentionally went to the press and portrayed the fight as done. Then they make apparently impossible demands of Haye, and blame him publicly for the fight falling through.

So my tendency is to believe at least some of what David Haye says. However, in any case, sometimes you need to sign away some things you don't want to in order to get a shot at greatness. I frankly do not see how anything Haye does is going to make his negotiation better with the Klits, unless he goes out there and literally KOs his next 3 top 10 heavy opponents in spectacular fashion, and the public is so clamoring for the fight that it has to be made.

Anything else is just more of the same, and the Klits will be as much assholes later as they are now when it comes to fighting David Haye.

So good luck to Haye, but all it takes is one crappy loss, or a few nondescript performances and he will fall off the radar and the Klits will have no desire or pressure to fight him at all.

whatever justifications haye might have, he's reneged on all his talk about fighting the best guy in the division. he's basically made a name for himself by calling out the top guy(s), getting the fight, then backing out and fighting somebody else while still carrying some of the publicity with him. i lauded him before for risking his reputation against the biggest challenge, but he hasn't followed through on that. shrewd business, doubtful integrity - de rigueur for british boxers.

The thing is, this is the fight he should have had prior to all the Klitschko rubbish, although if the wlad fight hadn't sold so many seats in gelsenkirchen and generated so much press interest, he might not be sitting in the front seat facing value next...so maybe its all worked out.
I'm not an apologist but I have no problem with him facing a Klitschko in late 2009 or sometime in 2010 instead, its what he should have been aiming for in the first place.

The thing is, though, if it was just a Setanta injury then why wasn't there ever a solid agreement reached for a rescheduled date?

There are ways Haye could have intimated to Klitschko's camp that whatever injury (hangnail or whatever) would not in any way jeopardize a date in July...but public statements from Klitschko's camp were that they weren't sure if Haye would be ready for a July rescheduling...and they took a fight without HBO because of that.

And then with Vitali...Haye's camp supposedly enter serious negotiations, which at least one side believed were nearing completion...and then all of a sudden his side becomes unreachable until word comes out he's secretly made a deal with Valuev?

This will be an easier fight for Haye. He can dance circles around Valuev and win an easy decision. Of course this will be another boring fight no one wants to watch and Valuev can get a gift/local decision.

    Allright Haye!:bears:

Finally this lead footed, no talent, ugly, know nothing boxing, ungainly mutant is going to be getting rid of.

I am confident you will knock this freak right back into the sideshow carnival, Hayemaker!

The only bad thing is; Haye had best be careful and not break his hands on this Herman Munster lookalike's forehead.

Haye will look like a punk for all the shit he talked about both Klitchkos.

But I understand him not wanting to sign longterm with those fools.

I remember Raheem beating the shit out of Morales. INstead of earning another big fight Arum put him on the shelf as a reward for beating Morales. Because he had to sign with them just to land the fight.

Morales of course still proceeded to fight Pacquiao right after. So who cares if Raheem landed a big fight and made the best of it? In the long run it was a bad decision

Agreed. Haye will take lots of shit from the usual collection of internet warriors after all the noise he made, but the bottom line is that this is a much better fight for him (Vitali would have beaten him shitless IMHO) and what is the merit in his fighting Wlad if he then has to rematch him and/or then fight Vitali immediately after on terms dictated by the brothers Grimm?

It's also the Klitschko's who have victories over heavyweight contenders.

This guy is a beat is every sense of the word

For me this is a very interesting fight and a potential banana skin for Haye. I dont think hes going to KO the hairy beast so he better fight smart in the later rounds.
