    A couple comments....

    * What's with the blonde? She asks a question, and then as you guys start to answer, she jumps in and cuts you off. This happened all interview long.

    * Steve_Dave....what are you, like 16? No wonder Hanzy loves you so much, you look like a young boy.

    * It's clear the guy railing against MMA had no clue whatsoever about the sport.

    * I like how SD tried to paint Brock Lesnar as someone who just came in off the street and became champ.

    * Couldn't they have found some better people on the street to ask for opinions? A couple of flat chested broads and some homo who says the UFC isn't friendly?

    * No mention of Fightbeat, the MMA Forum or TFK? What the fuck?

    I'm 23.

That dude can't have it both ways. You either need a ton of different skills to succeed in MMA, which Lesnar doesn't have, or you can learn them quickly.

The fact of the matter is, Brock has been competing in MMA since 2007. It shouldn't be that easy to get to the top with only a wrestling background. He only has one skill.

And as I said... they're on their way. They just aren't there yet. I wasn't hating on MMA at all, just calling it like I see it.

And sorry about the lack of Fightbeat hype, I asked them to put the site under my name but I guess they settled on "Boxing Journalist"

I only watched part of it. You look good steve! :kidcool: Like a pro!
Anyway, we have to be truthful here. MMA as a sport is not really thriving, only the UFC is seeing real profit. Even Dana White will tell you this. Remember his quote? "MMA is not on the rise, the UFC is."
And he's correct on that. MMA as a whole, in every province or state, is merely just a bunch of small timers fighting in smokey bars and crappy little venues barely bigger than your college gymnasium. The fighters there making no more than a few hundred at most.
Any other league out there trying to compete with the UFC is seeing its doors close as quickly as they opened.
There is only 1 real MMA show in town and that's the UFC. We'll say the sport of MMA is on the rise once we actually have several brands out there actually worth a sh*t, and which actually pay its fighters more than what I got paid working in the shipping department of my old factory summer job.
Till then, the UFC is the only real legit company and the rest are just a bunch of crappy little minor leagues ala Toughman Bar Fighting that are dying as we speak.

I don't want to get into another Lesnar discussion, since we've had a million of them, but Lesnar is clearly the exception with his size, speed, strength and wrestling pedigree. While you can teach technique to increase power in punches, you can't teach natural power, and Lesnar has as much natural power as anyone. Like I said, he's an exception to the rule.

And man, some of the MMA haters on this board are gonna kill you for saying 'boxing is on it's way out'. Be prepared.

Next time you go on TV, you better smoke before hand. You were way too fidgety and nervous.

TFK is delusional. MMA as a sport is not thriving at all. It's just a new pastime which people are in love with, and the bulk of them are watching it for the VIOLENCE, not for the technical aspect or the skill level.
The UFC is the only business that matters. All these little upstart or minor league promotions are as big as the ToughMan contests they replaced.
MMA will thrive once we have several major leagues all competing.
Pro Wrestling is in the same state. Other than the WWE and to a much much lesser extent, TNA, the pro wrestling industry in Europe and the States is in disarray.
Affilcition will soon be dead, joining the likes of Bodog, Elite, and all the other crappy little fly by night leagues.

Boxing will never die. It'll always be around. As long as 2 men can throw a punch in the ring and put on a show, there will be enough people willing to watch it. The only problem is, like every other sport....it needs SUPERSTARS in order to thrive.

It's just calling it like I see it. Boxing is obviously on the way out and MMA on the way in popularity wise. I don't have to like it, but hey, people are idiots.

As I already said, for whatever reason, I was nervous. I don't know why.

    Good job dude,

Ya you seemed a bit nervous but most of what you said was pretty good. You played a little too much of the WWF comparison at the beginning, but after that you really picked up steam.

The Chuck Lidell thing was a pretty accurate observation I thought. although obviously you "dumbed" it down a bit for the viewing audience.. it really got the MMA guy's nuts off though he loved you after that. "boxing is on the way out" could have been re-phrased.. like maybe.. "boxing's popularity is waning due to a lack mainstream media coverage and boring ass heavyweight div" would go over a bit better with FB.

Good job overall.. next time throw in some more props to boxing.. like talk about how a badass midget like Marquez would have had St Pierre sucking through a straw after a few bombs like what Serra got on him.

Get off it GF. It's lovely you have HDNet and access to all these great MMA leagues like Dream but there is NOTHING out there for most people other than the UFC. Every other league out there is susceptible to failure(or failed already).
How many more must fail before you realize the obvious?
Ignorant my ass! Never doubt the Hanz! :kidcool: I'm always right.

Do you even know how huge Dream is?

There is also Senguko and Strikeforce. There are also others out there. The problem is that you have no knowledge of MMA other than the UFC. NONE.
