This comes as a shock to nobody. I would love to have heard the conversation between Atencio and the UFC.

Perhaps a step towards Fedor in the UFC?

I still never understood why Affliction paid Tim Sylvia almost a million dollars for the Fedor fight. Dumbass decisions like that are what killed Affliction. The dude at best, at the time when his stock was still pretty high, was not worth more than 200K. PPV sales and gate could not cover the wages paid out for that show.

Affliction was doomed to fail from the very beginning. It's a shame too, as for the most part, they had some good match ups. They just had no clue as far as the business end of things.

This was obviously reported before Affliction folding, but it's still an interesting point regarding Affliction's contracts and why we're probably no closer to seeing Fedor in the UFC.

I don't think this brings Fedor any closer to the UFC. Affliction gave Fedor millions and let him do as he pleased as far as fighting elsewhere. The UFC won't go for that. Its just as simple as that. They aren't going to let a guy like Fedor come in on a fight to fight basis and win their title and then bail. Fedor isn't going to fight in the constrictive contracts the UFC hands out.

White is just going to have to fold on this one with regards to Fedor. He needs to Offer Fedor a fight to fight contract. White better be really careful here too, because i can see Dream picking Fedor up and having him dominate. And dream will pay fedor well.

Brock Lesnar has already decided he won't fight Fedor so what's even the point of Fedor coming to the UFC now? Unless Dana White forces Lesnar into the fight which he has the power to do. Lesnar has no rights really. He'll do what he's told. Dana White should make an attempt to get the fight made as he said he would 2 weeks ago.

The fighters don't choose who they fight. If the UFC tells Lesnar he's fighting Fedor next, then he's fighting Fedor next.

What is all this "brock decided" shit. He's got no say in who he fights.

You gotta love it, huh? Imagine if this was the case with Boxers. All these ducking chicken motherf*ckers in boxing like Floyd Jr would have no choice but to fight the best. That's one good thing about the UFC.
If they sign Fedor, I do hope Dana makes that fight immediately.

It's more than that. M-1 Global won't allow Fedor to sign with the UFC unless they get to co-promote....and that will never happen.

I'm guessing Fedor's next fight will be against Barnett in Japan, where they don't care what kind of performance enhancing drugs you pump yourself full of.

I was thinking the same thing. Dream could make this fight happen.
