"Fedor is a f---ing joke," UFC President Dana White responded Monday after learning that Emelianenko had signed with Strikeforce. “He turns down a huge deal and the opportunity to face the best in the world to fight nobodies for no money!"

White also addressed fans: "I feel sorry for the real fight fans. I wanted to make the deal, but it takes two and it is very obvious Fedor doesn't want to fight the best, and doesn't give a sh-t about the fans!"

This article was updated at 3:52 p.m. EST and 7:35 p.m. EST with quotes from Dana White that the UFC's PR Director Jennifer Wenk sent directly to Sherdog.com.

I kinda understand Dana White's anger although I still want to know exactly what the terms were which were offered to Fedor. Nobody believes Dana offered him 5 mill per fight.

I kind of do too. But White is just so fucking unprofessional.
Calling an ATG a fucking joke? Insinuations in the past that Fedor isn't worthy of the praise the MMA world presents him with? I think THAT is one of the reasons Fedor doesn't sign with UFC. But that is being presumptuous.

Like you say......we really need to know both sides of the story before coming to any conclusions.

I don't think White's way of doing business had anything to do with Fedor not signing with the UFC. It's because of M-1 that the deal wasn't made.

From what I understand, Fedor has 3 fights left on his deal with M-1, and his deal with SF is for 3 fights. So who knows, maybe Fedor blasts through Rogers, Overeem and Werdum and then signs with the UFC some time next year.

But who knows, with M-1's reported ties to the Russian Mafia, Fedor may not be in any position to leave, whether he wants to or not.

Even that is being presumptuous until we know all the facts of the dealings.

That being said...it has to irk Fedor for White to continuously talk shit about him.

What is this mafia involvement with MMA? Pride had ties to the Yakuza and M1 is tied to the Russian mafia.:dunno:
    Golly!

Dana is the joke. He can't even get the best fighter in his promotion. Now he will have to continue lying to his dumbass 15 year old fans that Brock is the real heavyweight champ of the world, and that Anderson Silva is the best fighter p4p.

I don't know that he isn't right about that. I mean,...a serious case of course could be made that Fedor is. But right now....Silva and GSP both are facing MUCH better opposition every time out than Fedor has since beating CroCop.

I think this whole ordeal is sending a message to Dana White. The UFC is not the only show in town afterall. There are other places where fighters are willing to go. :kidcool:
And if Fedor accepted Strikeforce's deal, it means he never was offered 5 mill from Dana White because nobody in MMA turns down 5 mill per fight. In 2008, Dana made him an offer of 1 mill per fight(some say 2 mill) which pissed off a lot of guys in the UFC, namely Couture.
And now Dana is offering 5 mill per fight? All the while, UFC's biggest star Brock Lesnar is getting a flat 400K and whatever bonus he's entitled to?
No way did Fedor receive a 5 mill per fight offer. No way!:nono:
I believe Dana offered him no more than 2 mill + incentives.
You got to look at it this way. If Fedor was a major box office attraction bringing in Tyson-like numbers on ppv, then 5 mill makes sense. But he's not a big attraction here and most UFC fanatics never heard of him, hence Dana offering 5 mill for a guy most people don't know is completely ridiculous. It's about a guy putting asses in seats. Fedor making 5 mill is basically him getting more than what the entire roster would get on the card x 2!!! LOL!

A bit like when Fraud Mayweather was annointed the "p4p title" in the midst of his drought between 2002 - 2007...

White tries so hard to look like Vince mcmahon, it's really sad. And as off now, Brock's, as unproven as he is, is the only worthy matchup for Fedor in the UFC. Carwin could be interesting in the future but as of now, he's way too green and unproven. This may be better in the long run as Brock is obviously still learning and Fedor-Brock woul be way bigger a couple of years from now if Brock prove not to be a flash in the pan.

People could debate that Silva or GSP are better P4P right now and it wouldn't be an insane debate at all. It's all subjective but GSP has been as dominant over the last 2 years as anyone else in the sport.

And, this is the big point, GSP has fought 5 times at the highest level over the last two years. Fedor has barely managed 3 fights over the same period. And one of those was against Hong-Man Choi. Need I say more?

....what amazes me with White, is that these quotes were very deliberate, not some off-the-cuff remarks....his PR guy sent the quotes!....but they only succedd in further adding to the notion that Dana White is a twat.

We all know Strikeforce pay isn't even close to UFC pay. I'm wondering what deal Fedor took, or what deal M-1 made him take just for the "Co promotion" Screw what the UFC offered, what did he actually SIGN.

Neither Anderson or Fedor is p4p. I think it's clearly GSP right now.

P4p is subjective so I don't care about that. I just go by whos better.

How am I a Lesnar fanboy? I just give him credit where it is due. You just refuse to give anyone credit who isn't japanese or Fedor. You are the epitome of a sherdog poster.

It could well be. He made more money for Afflcition then he would have in the UFC. Also he could have just signed of principle, Dana has talked so much shit about Fedor. He also comes accross as a 10 year old kid that didn't get his way when Fedor didn't sign for him.

Not so sure about that. The offer was based on PPV sales, the low end of the offer would have paid Fedor about 3 mil per fight and was based on a PPV flop. The high end could have netted him up to 6 mil, this number was based on a high PPV buy comparable to UFC 100.

Does that seem like a bad deal to you?
