Witter seriously did quit. He was tired of getting buzzed by that left-hand. Also, notice that just before he quit he was warned by the referee that his hit-and-hold approach would no longer be tolerated. He knew that would be the only way he could survive. I wonder what a fight between Bradley and Alexander would look like. My guess is Shaw wouldn't allow it.
Bradley and Alexander are like the same dude! Both good boxers, both quick and both have very little power. Only thing I would predict is that it's going 12 rounds.
Alexander is much rangier than Bradley, although he's not a tall guy. Plus, I don't know about Witter's chin, but he seemed to pack a punch on Saturday. Does his knock-out ratio suggest otherwise?
I have no idea how many KO's Alexander has, I'm just going by what I saw. He buzzed Witter a couple times for sure, but he wasn't badly hurt.
Bradley vs Alexander would be a great fight. Bradley really impressed me Saturday night. He thought such a smart fight against Nate.
He used the Holyfield vs Tyson stategy. Effective I must say, especially with a bad call from the ref. I really didn't see enough of Bradley in that fight to say anything good or bad. He was ahead on the cards I know that much.
I just read Campbell's interview on Fightnews.com. He basically said nothing he was getting hit with hurt him at all, and that the hospital was in fact surprised he'd been in a championship fight because besides his eye, he was unscathed. He claimed that all was going as planned - that he's a 12 round fighter and that he was doing what he wanted to do which was to land body shots. And he was if you watch closely. He was landing some hard upper-cuts to Bradley's body. The other thing is Bradley was fighting at a pace that it's unlikely he could've sustained without becoming exhausted. The other thing Nate pointed out was that he was also losing to Diaz after three rounds. Anyways, I won't be surprised if the decision gets changed to a no contest. As for a rematch, I'd say it's doubtful unless Nate is truly confident he can win and will take less money.
