I'd like to get 100 WWE fans and dump them all in the MMA forum!

As long as they were intelligently discussing MMA, that would be great.

Of course! All WWE fans know that a pro wrestler only needs about 6-8 months of MMA training to have a 50/50 shot in knocking the sh*t out of most anybody in the UFC.:laughing:

I think people should only be able to post either about boxing or about MMA, not both. If the ones who choose MMA wanted to discuss boxing, they would need to beg for a special right to do so for each of their posts. Also, being a MMA guy would cost ten bucks a month

Of course. Just look at the list of pro wrestlers that have gone on to have great success in MMA over the past few years. There's Brock Lesnar. Then there's.......there's......uh........um........ well there's Brock Lesnar!

Bobby Lashley.....motherf*cker!!!!!!! :flip: And even now I'd give Lashley a 50/50 shot in knocking the f*cking living sh*t out of Cheik Kongo and Randy Couture.

Bobby Lashley has done nothing. Beating a few nobodies and going life and death with a horrible Jason Guida isn't exactly great success.

I feel that it is best to merge the two, this way fans of one sport will have more exposure to the other which might cause more interest and excitement that otherwise wouldn't occur. There is no reason why somebody can't be a fan of both, even if one is preferred over the other. I for instance love boxing, but even though I enjoy MMA as well, I don't visit the MMA board. If the boards are merged then maybe some MMA post will catch my eye and inform me of something interesting in the sport that I wouldn't normally be aware of.

Nobodies? They're pro MMA fighters, bitch! And like I said, Bobby Lashley has a 50/50 shot against a whole lot of UFC guys including your precious Randy Couture, Cheik Kongo, Brandon Vera, Shane Carwin, etc.
You know you're sh*tting yourself right now. You know that what I say is true and that a whole lot of WWE guys with some MMA training could turn the UFC on its ear! You're scared!

    Whatever you say, Hanzy.

Anyway, I'm sure the folks here don't want to read your MMA trolling in the boxing forum. Maybe you should sign up on a WWE board and discuss it there.

    Pretty much.

The site may not be called boxbeat, but the majority of articles and news items - whenever new ones are actually posted - are about boxing, and the General Discussion (Boxing) forum has more activity, posters and topics than the MMA forum.

Merging the two would be to improve, or at least increase, the MMA discussion at the expense of boxing discussion...and, from a cursory search, it appears Godfather spends more of his time in the MMA forum than the boxing one, so it's easy to see why thta is something Godfather would be in favor of.

An easy compromise would be to have quick links between the forums on each page's header. It sucks to have to go to the forum page and then click on the forum you want.

I think they should remain seperate.................however, if somebody starts a thread in GD about MMA and there is some sort of boxing slant to it (Ray Mercer, etc..), I don't think it should immediately be kicked to the MMA forum.

I watch MMA every once in awhile but I'm not exactly a big fan. I do find it interesting to read topics about it here and there, especially when a boxer or former boxer is involved..........good or bad.

I did watch the Carano / Cyborg card from this weekend and was fairly entertained. I prefer K1 to MMA to be honest, but it doesn't seem to really get any coverage over here, and I don't like it enough to go looking for it.

unless for the grand prix, it's pretty hard to find info on K1

    No.

I watch a little MMA every now and then but I really don't like the idea of mixing the two forums together.

I come here for the boxing forums because they are the best. It's fine just the way it is.

If I ever get curious about an MMA topic I'll know precisely where to go to get some information quickly. I'd rather not have to sift through a boxing forum for MMA info or worse, sift through MMA threads when I'm thinking about boxing. I don't think its that big a deal to click from the boxing to the MMA forum if I want to browse what's going on over there.

I think it would lead to increased trolling.

I think we should take down the MMA forum. If nothing else we will have accomplished removing TFK from the forum.

Please keep them separate. They are different sports and should be grouped separately.

I'm wth Joe, Feebs and TFK on this one.

I do not want to see them merged just as I wouldn't want to see wrestling or midget jello fight threads in either the boxing or MMA forums.

You're telling me you wouldn't want to see Karl fight another midget in a kiddie pool full of jello?

Who wouldn't?? Ok...me, for one.

But it should be discussed where it belongs...the Midget Jello Wrestling forum.

Well, we used to have a seperate Midget Jello Wrestling Forum before we merged it with the Boxing Forum back in '05. It all but killed the Midget Jello Wrestling talk around here.

I think we should trial this idea. Maybe a one or two month stint.
