Sucked for Paulie. He definately finished that fight the winner. I love watching the cow try to bob and weave. He looks like a baby learning to dance.

BTW, was that Karl sitting next to DLH? DLH hit up his strip club last night or something?

He probably also thought the fight would be much tougher......kinda like Cotto/Hatton fights. He won so convincingly that there is no way he could be rob..

Even if you didn't think it was a robbery there's no denying that it was an uninspired and shtty performance by Diaz. He can talk all he wants about being able to fight with a cut, but the bottom line is, when he gets cut, he stops fighting hard amd if Malignaggi had had any power, he probably would've been stopped. Instead, he got by fighting lackadaisically because all he had to worry about was Paulie's jab and nobody's getting knocked out by a jab.

I haven't read this thread yet, but I'll say this much.

I saw Paulie win 7 clear rounds.

    116-112 is horrendous.

    118-110 should signal an investigation

I had Pauil winning a clear dec. But I knew unless he exposed Diaz with a Hopkins like performance (meaning winning every round) the dec was going to Diaz.

Yeah, the bigger point being, he won't make it at 140.

LOU DIBELLA CALLS FOR DIAZ-MALIGNAGGI II IN NEW YORK

    <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=629 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD style="PADDING-TOP: 10px" vAlign=top align=middle bgColor=#ffffff colSpan=2 rowSpan=2></TD><TD style="PADDING-RIGHT: 20px; PADDING-TOP: 5px" vAlign=top bgColor=#ffffff>

</TD></TR><TR><TD style="PADDING-RIGHT: 20px" vAlign=top bgColor=#ffffff>Press Release: Promoter Lou DiBella is outraged over what happened this past Saturday night, when Paul Malignaggi received a loss in a fight that he appeared to win only to have the judges award the local boxer, Juan Diaz, a unanimous decision. DiBella criticizes not only the judges in the Malignaggi-Diaz fight, but especially the attitude of the Texas commission, and the structure of boxing itself where judges are still paid by promoters. DiBella is calling for an online campaign for Malignaggi to have a rematch with Diaz, in New York, with neutral officials. DiBella urges Malignaggi fans to take this message viral by posting it around the Internet: "We demand that Golden Boy and HBO agree to a rematch between Paulie Malignaggi and Juan Diaz, in New York, with neutral officials."</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

The reason the fight was in Houston was because Juan Diaz can sell out an arena there. If Paulie could draw in NY i would be all for a rematch, but Juan isn't going to fight there infront of a half full Hammerstein ballroom when he can sell out in Houston.

he's also not gonna fight where he doesn't have two of the three judges in his pocket, either.

How do you explain to yourself that Hatton stopped Malignaggi and Diaz nearly lost?

Nope. Savanah just said today that they wont do that. They want Hatton in Vegas. And they also refuse to fight Paulie in a rematch in NYC, even though Paulie was willing to come to Juan's hometown.

Savanah knows his boy is at the end of the road, and cant beat any elite fighters... they're just looking for that final cash out fight, and hoping its Hatton.

But if they want Hatton, they're gonna have to bend to Ricky's demands. Hatton is by FAR a bigger universal draw than the baby cow, and Diaz needs Hatton alot more than vice versa.

But in reality... it doesnt matter where those two fight. Hatton would kick Diaz's ass. Ive never rooted for Hatton before, but if that fight comes off... I'll be hoping that Ricky puts the Baby Cow in the ICU.

Yeah, Golden Boy's use for Diaz now is as an opponent for Hatton.

If the Hatton fight doesnt comes off, GB will prob use him as a comeback opponent for Victor Ortiz or something. Even though Ortiz lost to Maidana, he'd still slaughter Diaz.

The bottom line is I dont think Diaz is beating any top guy out there. He better rematch Katsidis if he wants a win.

I think its DOA period. At 135 theres no way I'd take him over Valero, or Guzman. Hell.... I wouldnt be surprised if Ali Funeka beat him.

If Ortiz has a come-back fight and it's not against Maidana, it better not be on TV.

Your right Hatton tells Juan when and where if this fight is to come off. Hatton would have problems with Juan and could easily be outworked by Juan.

Nice interview with Paulie over at *********. His rant about the judge who scored it 116-112 is hilarious. He also says that Juan Diaz would beat Hatton.

Of course Paulie would say that. He beat Diaz, whilst Hatton dominated him.

And I'd give Diaz zero chance vs Hatton. I dont care if Ricky is washed up, he's still stronger than Diaz... and if Juan gets pushed backwards, what else can he do? He cant hurt Hatton, and he wont outwork him... Diaz fades badly late. Hatton by stoppage if he's not totally shot. If he is shot, Hatton by decision.

And please nobody bring up the Lazcano fight, cause Lazcano would have knocked the shit outta Diaz.

    18 foot ring

Accoring to the ABC Regulatory Guidelines:

    EQUIPMENT

    Ring Size

The ring shall be no less than sixteen (16) or more than 20 feet square when measured inside the line of the ropes.

So, I think that the complaints about the 18 foot ring being too small are unfounded. If GBP really wanted a big advantage for Diaz they could have set up a 16 foot ring..

I think Lazcano vs. Diaz would play out just as Lazcano vs. Hatton did.
Diaz would win just about every round with superior pressure, work rate, and punch output, but Lazcano would catch and wobble him, possibly stopping him, but only win 1-2 rounds.

Lazcano trained at Diaz's gym for the Hatton fight. I thought he was in very good shape and had good sparring in preparation for the fight. But they were only looking for one chance to get the knockout.. They almost got it.

Paulie said that Hatton can't stop Juan getting off 100 punches per round because he stands infront of you.

Man you hate Juan something brutal. Juan would beat the shit out of Lazcano.

But it's NOT Like Hatton "Stands In Front of U" Doing NATHAN...He's THROWING, CLINCHING, Manickly BOBBING from Side to Side, etc..In Addition to Having SUPERIOR All Around Speed, Hatton's BIGGER, STRONGER & the Better PUNCHER...

When he's HURT, Juan DOESN'T "Get Off" 100 Punches Per Round & Hatton can CERTAINLY HURT Diaz...

U're as MUCH of a Hatton Hater as Xplosive is a Juan Diaz Hater...

    That was not me, bro.

I watched the fight at a sports bar, and for the record: I had Paulie winning by two points.

Sorry Juan, I gotta call 'em as I see 'em.

Diaz is no match for Khan, nor is Malignaggi. At 140 it is 1. Pac, 2. Khan, 3. The rest.
