Check out these lines... 8/29/09 9505 Randy Couture -185 23:00 ET Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira +155 8/29/09 9510 Keith Jardine -180 23:00 ET Thiago Silva +150 8/29/09 9525 Chris Leben -150 22:15 ET Jake Rosholt +120 8/29/09 9530 Demian Maia +110 22:30 ET Nate Marquardt -140 8/29/09 9540 Brandon Vera -165 22:00 ET Krzysztof Soszynski +135 I'd have to go with the underdogs in all of these fights. There's no way Couture is beating Nog, I highly doubt Jardine is beating Silva, Rosholt has a ton of potential he just doesn't have the experience yet, but Leben isn't gonna beat him, Maia will sub Nate whenever he wants to, and Vera is garbage, so Krzysztof should beat him pretty easily. Gonna make me some cash on the 29th! TFK
Although i like some underdogs here, too, I fail to see how these are "there's no way..." "beat him easily" "whenever he wants to" fights... Rosholt for example is complete crap and will get knocked out. Nog vs. Couture is pure speculation on both sides... :dunno:
I'm with Roy on this one. I see most of these as toss-up fights. The only one I have confidence in is Silva beating Jardine. I can see Couture handling the Nog that looked shot against Mir. I can also see Marquardt beating Maia. The one that I really have an issue with is Krzysztof beating Vera "Easily"? I don't see it being an easy fight for Krzystof. In fact, I think it's a huge test for him. We will see.
Nog looked so bad vs Mir, if he shows in the same condition vs Couture I think he gets take out too. Soszynsky won't have it easy as all vs Verra as he is very ordinary ( I expect him to lose the fight ).
Rosholt is inexperienced in MMA, but the guy is a beastly wrestler. I am a Leben fan, but Rosholt will manhandle him. No way does he stand and bang with a guy like Leben. Leben is screwed on the ground. Rosholt will take him down with ease, repeatedly. Leben of course has the puncher's chance. Thiago Silva will handle Jardine I see Nog beating out Randy but its no gimmie, could go either way depending on who's shot more?:dunno: Krystof/Vera is gonna be close. Neither guy stands out.
wow, i pretty much in a disagreement with all of your pick. I expect jardine to ko silva I think vera take sozynski pretty easily Marquandt will keep it stanfing and ko mai I don't know squat about Rosholt, so i wont make a prediction I lean slightly vs nog, but theyr both shot so who knows.
I laid a few bucks on Krystoff at +175, Nog at +165, Tuchscherer at +260 and of course, loaded up on Maia at +145. Vera is garbage, and while Krystoff isn't world class, he's good enough to beat Vera. I think Nog is gonna come back in a big way against Couture. I don't know much about Tuchscherer other then he's a big strong wrestler who trains with Lesnar, but I don't think Gonzaga is any good, so the +260 looked like a good bet. And trust me, you will never get Maia at +145 again in any fight short of Anderson Silva. I may end up dropping a few more bucks on Maia before the fight starts. TFK
I'm watching the replay of the Packers\Cards game on the NFL Network, and Mike Goldberg is doing play by play (an excellent job by the way). I kept wondering if he was gonna sneak a plug in for UFC 102, and sure enough, late in the 4th quarter he did. Leinart got up after taking a late hit, and Goldberg said it was because Leinart was training in MMA in the offseason. The color guy asked when the next one is, and he said Saturday night, Randy Couture vs Minataro Nogieura. Gotta love it. TFK
I think those are terrible bets, except maybe for nog, but he's shot so I would never bet on him again. Guess we'll see who was right tonight
Gonzaga and Werdum are excellent to bet against (very overrated imho), but there is no way Gonzaga loses to that guy. I also entertained the idea of betting against Gonzaga until I saw a picture of Tuchscherer. Couture vs. Nog. Wouldn´t touch this either way, but Couture looked fresher at the weigh-in. Given that Couture is favoured there is no real value. The polish dude looked like a limited bodybuilder to me, but I have only seen him once, but going by that I wouldn´t bet a dollar on him. Don´t know Maia or Marquardt well enough to make a decision. I like Silva over Jardine and the odds aren´t bad.
just found this....pretty good actually, fingers crossed it stays up http://www.iraqgoals.net/ch3.html
Well many people will be hurt, when they run blindly into a shot with their hands down. If you put Maia in the ring with a shot Roy Jones, Roy probably kills him in ten seconds.
