    I'm just trying to figure out what the hell Maia was trying to do when he ran into that punch. It almost looked like he was trying a Ryo Chonan\Anderson Silva flying scissor heel hook.

    that fucking link i put up went down just as that fight was about to kick off.....thought i did a good job of getting another one up.....and the fight was already over. Damn, i was so high on Maia.

    What sort of shot was it....did Nate just come at him?....or was it a counter?....or what?

    Maia ran into Marquardts fist like Bolt runs over the 100m finish line and took off like Jonathan Edwards.

    One more thing about the Maia fight, I think the stoppage could be considered early as he wasn't really out......BUT....had Nate teed off on Maia instead of stopping himself, he would've beaten Maia unconscious. So it doesn't matter one way or another.

    Chris Leben vs. Jake Rosholt
    Round 1
    Rosholt gets the contest started with a low kick. Leben attempts to return the favor, but comes up short. Rosholt snaps home another low kick in a tentative first minute. Rosholt snaps Leben’s head back with a straight right to the chin. Leben gets a takedown with a trip, but Rosholt would not be held down. Leben comes forward and is tagged by a left hook. Rosholt gets a clean single and mounts Leben. The punished fighter defends and stands as he absorbs a right hand and an elbow. Leben throws caution to the wind and starts winging haymakers.

    Jordan Breen scores the round 10-10
    TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Rosholt
    Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Rosholt

    Round 2
    Leben turns up the pressure and he knocks his prey off balance with a left hook. Leben jumps on top and starts throwing left hands from half guard. Rosholt gets back to guard, and absorbs right hands to the body for his effort. The action slows and referee Yves Lavigne stands the fighters. Rosholt kicks the lead leg of Leben to keep him at bay. Leben comes forward with a low kick and follows with a straight right that scores. Rosholt ducks his head and steps forward with leather. It sets up a beautiful single leg. Rosholt hits the head and body before standing.

    Can't figure out what Maia was trying to do....i thought Nate might have ended up playing Maia's game by being overconfident on the ground....instead, Maia was guilty of trying too much on his feet

    This why the boxing fans dont respect MMA yet. The striking in MMA is severly lacking. There are only a handful of guys that have great hands.

    tell you what, in looking at the replay, that Jab by todd duffy was very strong. That can be a real asset if or when this man becomes a player.
