Manny Pacquiao defended his advisor Michael Koncz from the criticism Roach has spilled against him stating that everything Koncz has said and done was by his own (Pac) instructions. Wants to start training in Phillipines instead of Mexico. The soap opera continues... http://www.fightnews.com/?p=22224#more-22224
I love how Pacquiao always thanks Roach for looking out of him and being like a father. However right now he is saying fuck Roach this is the way wer'e doing it and we know best. God I hope Cotto ko's this idiot. He is setting himself up for a disaster.
DLH came to a point where he knew what was best for his career. Maybe manny is at that same point. Manny might be tired of listening to people and thinks he knows whats best for himself. Only time will tell.
DLH was always a smart, sharp person. Manny not so much! Roach has proven to do what's best for Manny's carreer and not just by training him but guiding his carreer somewhat. I just think of all the people he should listen to, Roach is the one he should still respect. I'ts not like Roach is asking for alot. Just to take his training seriously until the fight.
How do you know Manny isnt smart? People often confuse people who dont speak English well or have an accent as being stupid.
Well I consider Marquez extremely smart...and he don't speak any english and has a huge accent...haha
it has nothing to do with the language i'ts based on his behavior. This is the same guy that tried to quit boxing to become a politician. Then he wanted to become a lawyer. Until Arum, Roach, and everyone involved gave him a reality check. The problem with Manny is the same ongoing problem that he is surrounded by alot of leaches and he never says no. The reason I don't think he is too bright is because Roach has years proving to have the best interest in his carreer. Yet Manny all of a sudden ignores him and listens to this Koncz guy. It just seems like never learns his lessons and keeps those leaches around him. you would think that Manny would trust Roach more than those clowns by now. I will be laughing if Pacquiao has a shitty preparation for this hard fight. Unless he is seriously underestimating Cotto there is no reason he should be slacking by now.
He's being stupid, and not showing Roach any respect. Roach is a huge factor in why Manny is such the polished fighting machine that he is. Manny needs to realise that.
I'm wondering if Cotto should have taken several months off after the Hatton fight. Facing ODLH, Hatton, and now Cotto back to back requires a heavy level of commitment by itself. Yet facing Cotto while expecting to be at a higher level against him then the last 2 is gonna require even more. Right now it doesn't seem like Manny has that commitment level and it could cost him. I remember I predicted several months ago that Floyd may need to take a long vacation. He'd been fighting so consistently for so long that if he didn't take a break he would possibly get beat when his desire to train went down from burn out. What happened? Well Floyd didn't get beat but I think he did get burned out and that's why he took a long break. Why else would he turn down easy money against Oscar? Probably because he couldn't get up for training.
For the first time I'm now thinking Pacman losing to Cotto is a realistic possibility. I thought Cotto didn't have much chance before, but preparation is obviously a huge factor in boxing. What I'm not sure about is whether Pacman really is taking Cotto lightly, or he's just stupid? :dunno: I'm still picking Manny, but now it wouldn't surprise me if he lost.
