MOSLEY-JUDAH IN THE WORKS?

In case anyone missed it, Judah has already pulled out of the Mayweather-Marquez PPV due to his lack of satisfaction with his purse. Then supposedly GBP's contacted him about a possible PPV with Shane Mosley in which he would receive 500,000 & 5% of the PPV sales as well as a spot on the 24/7 show. Judah again turned down what he felt was a low ball offer.

I guess GBP may renegotiate their offer, but who knows. Is Judah in the right here? I know that's kind of a low payday, but Judah hasn't had a significant win much less even a significant performance in years.
All he is is a name that has recognition.

Shane is still looking for a dance partner and word is he's not really interested in fighting Clottey which I think is a wise decision. Why fight a monster for peanuts? Especially when he has a possible bout with Pac, Cotto or Mayweather in his future. I like the idea of fighting an easy stay busy fight like Cintron, Berto, or Judah.

 no way in hell there is a 24-7 for a mosley judah fight

Mosley needs to fight Berto, it's an easy fight and he picks up another belt and takes away an option I am sure Floyd would pursue, given that it's easy money.

Judah has no chance here.... I know anything can happen in boxing but there is zero chance here of Judah pulling a upset.

There was a time when Judah would take short money because he actually believed he could win. It looks like he's smartened up and figured out that:

    a. he's apparently in demand as an opponent
    b. chance are he can't beat fighters at Mosley's level
    b. his time as a commodity in the sport is not indefinite; he needs to make money as soon as he can and recognize that with each knock-out loss he sustains his value as an opponent diminishes.

This fight has seemed pretty likely to me for a while.

It just seems to make sense (for the fighters, not necessarily the fans) given where both are at in their careers.

Of course, as an opponent, why wouldn't Judah makes sense?

Judah vs. Mosley should go in the undercard of Pacquiao vs. Cotto....or in the undercard of Mayweather vs. Cotto/Pacquiao winner...

How in the hell does Zab keep getting title shots?? Is he blowing Don King or what?

I think it makes zero sense, especially for Judah. He's constantly being brought in as an opponent to lose and with each lose what was once supposed to be a promising career looks more and more like one of the biggest busts in the sport.

Judah needs to stick to the 140lb division especially if they're not going to pay him what he's asking. He can still make decent coin fighting guys like Bradley, Hatton, Diaz and maybe even Malignaggi. He's too small for welterweight and his moving up to that division is the exact reason his career has been a failure.

The same way Mayorga and Rahman used to. He's an overrated name opponent being brought in to lose.

    JUDAH BACK ON MAYWEATHER-JMM UNDERCARD

Well apparanetly Judah's back on for the Diaz fight. Sources are saying that if he has a good performance against Diaz GBP will be willing to offer him a bigger payday for a Shane Molsey fight.

I don't understand that. Mosley will not only be on a very long lay off but you'd also think Mosley would be looking at facing one of the big 3 (Floyd, Cotto, or Pac) since they should be freed up around that time. Why would Shane want to fight Judah then?

Zab Judah is Shane Mosleys version of fighting the best. So much for Williams or Clottey.

That speech about a promising career really would've been more relevant a few years ago...and I'm not sure what the point of your list of "decent coin" opponents is.

Ricky Hatton and Juan Diaz are likely to fight Zab Judah?

Part of the attraction of Judah as an opponent is that (at 147) he's likely to lose (entertainingly)...especially against high caliber fighters like Mosley, Clottey, Cotto, Mayweather.

Hatton and Diaz arent in their class, or division, at the moment...and they can make money independent of their opponent, and you think they're putting them in with Judah?

That's why GBP mentioned Hatton's name immediately after Juan Diaz (who isn't even at 140, yet) got the win against Malignaggi?

And if Judah's got problems with the initial offer from GBP for Mosley, what's he going to say about an offer to fight Bradley on Showtime? (As though that offer's going to come, anyways...they just had a purse bid for Peterson, likely to come off December 5th...and nobody's exactly calling for Bradley-Judah).

Maybe you're looking forward to Judah-Malignaggi and will be one of those filling Madison Square Garden in rapt attention for that much-anticipated meeting. If you are, please invite plenty of friends.

Seriously. I mean, anybody voluntarily watching Judah outside the ring must have issues

I don't think Judah's been robbed of any jewelry recently...but if they had the cameras rolling during one of those it could maybe fill a couple minutes.

Maybe they could they could stage it for 24/7. :dunno:

Now that is funny coming from a huge Floyd nuthugger. You really shouldn't be talking about any other fighters not fighting the best for as long as you are a Floyd fan.

Dude don't even respond to that kind of shit from him. He's such a biased Mosley hater I pretty much just ignore anything he says about the guy. Anytime you respond to such posts you're just "feeding the troll."

Well here's the thing. If Judah isn't willing to face the elite for $500,000 paydays because it's too low, then the fact is he does need to be trying to fight the Hattons, Diaz's etc. Hell Judah wasn't even offered 500K to fight Mosley. They told Yoel it was about 250-300K and his response was "no, no, we'd never fight Shane for that much." So if even 500K is too low, maybe he'd be willing to accept 250-300K for guys at 140.

At the very least he has a better chance of actually winning at that weight. Also if he can get himself a belt again, and get the hype wagon going again he could make himself even more money. I just don't see any benefit of fighting at 147 because even there he doesn't seem to be making any more money then he would at 140.

I become a Shane hater when he become the biggest hypocrite in the sport. However i give him props for finally signing to fight Clottey.

How is he a hypocrite? This should be good. At welterweight, he's faced Cotto and Margarito. There's no reason he should take any crap for trying to make a Judah fight. Of course, it's a moot point now because Mosley is once again doing what he always does and that's take on the next toughest guy there is.

Whatever man. You want to criticize Shane or any other fighter for that matter it's no skin off my back. But when you have an obvious biased towards anyone like you've shown you do against Shane, what sense does it make for me to even respond to such bias'.

  23. royyjonesjrp4pno1

    royyjonesjrp4pno1 "Twinkle Toes" McJack

No bias i call it like i see it.

Shane gives Marquez his blessing to take the Floyd fight. Now he says that Floyd should be fighting himself and welterweights. Then he beggs a former 106lber for a fight.

  24. lb 4 lb

Calls it like you see it hunh? Well why haven't you ever once criticized anything Floyd has done? Where was your calls it like I sees it when Floyd said he didn't need to fight Cotto, Margarito, or Mosley since they all fought each other and all have loses? Or any of the other mind numbing excuses he's come up with?

When you can show me where you've said one negative thing about Floyd or RJJ then I'll consider you a poster who has no bias. Until then you'll have to forgive me if I find quotes like "Zab Judah is Shane Mosleys version of fighting the best. So much for Williams or Clottey" a bit biased, especially when a career filled with fighting guys nobody else would says the opposite.

There is a difference between being a fan of a fighter and being a nut hugging biased fan of a fighter. I'm the former, you're the latter.

Judah is good enough for Floyd but not Mosley? It's one of Floyd's biggest wins.

Maybe he can, I wouldn't put it past Mayweather. He'll probably call out Ivan Calderon next.
