Steve Kim is among those reporting this...with Guerrero's possible opponents could be Roman Martinez or Humberto Soto...location could be San Jose.

I'd like to see Soto hand him his ass. That's why it's going to be the other guy he actually fights. They always throw out the name of a tough fighter you'd like to see them fight along with a tuneup so you can think they're actually negotiating with both guys when in truth they're only negotiating with the tuneup.

Cintron just pulled the same thing with this headline: Kermit Cintron: Juliano Ramos or Joshua Clottey. I think you already know which fighter they're actually negotiating with, especially since Clottey is supposed to be in negotiations with Mosley right now. You'll never see Cintron step in the ring with no fucking Clottey, his balls ain't that big.

why wouldnt cintron fight clottey when he's fought the likes of margarito (twice), martinez (who probably beats clottey), and angulo (in a fight many picked him to lose)?

not sure why you'd think guerrero wouldnt fight soto when he fought a pretty good fighter in klassen in his last fight. i think guerrero beats soto via decision.

Guerrero would be in a world of trouble with either Soto or Martinez. Put any combination of those three guys in a fight and it's good.

He's in a world of trouble against Martinez?

Martinez has some attributes, but I'm not overly impressed with him or his skill level.

If it does go late, Guerrero's stamina may be an issue.

Boxingscene reporting that Soto apparently has an offer to fight Miguel Acosta - the guy who took Urbano Antillon's 'O' by KO earlier this year - for the interim WBA lightweight strap on the Pac-Cotto undercard.

exactly, HBO keeps on trying to build up stars, no putting meaningfull match ups.

And joony,Klassen wasn't good and he looked far smaller than Guerrero

Why? Because Cintron's soft ass would get stopped that's why. I don't get why people keep lumping Cintron in with the top fighters of welterweight because he's at least 1 rung below those guys. I also couldn't see Martinez beating Clottey. Maybe with all that running he does but I doubt it. I'd also love to Cintron rematch Angulo when he isn't sick and then see how well he does.

Well, Guerrero won't get rid of Martinez and Rocky will be there on his ass for 12 rounds. Robert didn't deal well with Salido's style of pressure and Martinez applies it in similar fashion.

I think Martinez beats him over the 12, handing out a beating late on.

Well, the commission didn't deal well with Salido's testing positive.

On his ass, punching with sloth-like quickness.

You seriously do like guys with the last name Martinez.

Soto would give Guerrero hell, but Martinez is a smaller fighter and doesn´t really apply hard pressure for twelve rounds. I think there would be enough breathing space for Guerrero, besides I don´t think Martinez is all that great defensively. If anything Guerrero stops Martinez to the body imho.

And Lara is the future of the jr. middleweight division. Sergio has considerable talent to work with, but he´s there to be hit with straight punches imho and not exactly a spring chicken either. I´d have no problem with Sergio making some money and if HBO ever decided to do their own Super Six, that would be the division I´d choose. All champions are good fighters, but nobody, who could make insane monetary demands. After Lara takes Spinks belt one could do Santos, Martinez, Dzinziruk, Cintron, Lara and Angulo and get all four champs involved.

Although it's not saying much, Zab Judah. Doesn't matter anyway. Cintron is soft and would get obliterated by Clottey. You can't just say because he rarely stops guys that he wouldn't stop Cintron. Clottey's strong and tough and Cintron is soft and weak. There is no other welter I'd be so certain that Clottey would stop.

Yeah, but Chico has balls of steel and even for a blown up guy he's twice as tough as Cintron. Look fellas if the fight ever comes off I'd sig beat that Clottey stops him.

Clottey wont stop any good fighter. He's tied with Jermain Taylor as the worst finisher in the sport.

I won't dispute that. However I do think he could stop Cintron.

Ok all jokes aside, Cintron is a good fighter, he is not great and he is not even very good, but he is definately B class and that is a good fighter...
He will always be a fighter that will get a championship but not be champ...

I'm not disputing that either. However he may be good but he is also soft and we saw how badly he reacted to an A level fighter named Margarito pounding away on him, twice. Clottey may be a mental midget but he's also a very effective offensive fighter and what he did to Cotto for a few rds would have Cintron in tears. So, like I've said before Clottey would stop Cintron if he ever showed the balls to meet Clottey in the ring, which I doubt he would.

I hope they make Guerrero/Soto that should be a good one!

I think it's a toss up! But I still love how some keep overrating Soto

What the fuck difference does it make? I can't believe that as slow as this site is people still complain about "not another such & such" thread. Also if you really want to figure out how it became a Clottey thread why don't you go back a few posts and figure it out. It isn't like this place is crawling with new threads so you should have plenty of time.

It's funny, in your mind everyone is overrating Soto. As far as I can tell, only your mind. Have you met anyone who shares your point of view? Because if not wouldn't it be more likely that YOU are underrating Soto based on his record and the fact that he lost to Kevin Kelly years ago?

    No shit.

    It was a rhetorical question.

And if you want to talk about Joshua Clottey and Kermit Cintron and Sergio Martinez...and there's a lack of new threads...why the fuck don't you start a new one on that topic.

    That was rhetorical as well.

Guerrero's having some promotional issues again...having to do with the arbitration ruling last year.
