No. It's Mayweather. I've heard from some good sources since last Tweet that it may even be as high as 1.6 million

    and

Rumor: Mayweather-Marquez does around 1 million buys

Early indicators say that around one million people saw Floyd Mayweather Jr. make Juan Manuel Marquez miss on pay-per-view. The number is a massive success for boxing. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

WOW... didn't expect that, looks like Floyd continues to shit on Pacman's drawing power vs. the respective opponents. :crafty:

& Just Think, This was on the SAME Night as a UFC PPV, so the Sales Still Weren't What they COULD have Been...Like REED's Been Saying ALL ALONG, Bob Arum & Freddie Roach R FULL OF SHIT when they Say Manny Pac's a "Bigger Draw" than Floyd...

& Please SPARE REED this Talk about Marquez's SUDDEN "Drawing Power", Because if he WAS a Draw, we'd have Seen Evidence of this in the Casamayor Bout AND the RE w/Pac....

Bottom Line, there's NOfuckingWAY Manny Pac DESERVES 50/50 w/Floyd Mayweather & if Team Pacquiao DEMANDS Parity, it's Because they DON'T Want the Fight...

Does anyone know what the UFC numbers were? If they didn't do close to that proves that boxing is still the top dog. But yeah I guess PBF is now boxings biggest star. Money Mayweather fits. I'll Holla 5000

and if Mayweather vs. Marquez did 1 mill...then Mayweather vs. Pac(if pac beat Cotto)....will probably break De La Hoya vs. Mayweather numbers...or come very...very close...

It was a shit UFC so it isn't exactly fair.
Not a great boxing ppv, either, so it's sort of fair, but Floyd is one of boxing's top draws so it's not exactly fair.
Nice move by UFC to have Spike show the free prelims.
    .
Can the sports co-exist? As long as they don't do spoilers, I think it will help both of their chances. I went to a bar and watched the UFC and then came home and watched the ppv. UFC ever ruins a boxing ppv for me and it will never happen again.

It doesnt prove anything of the sort. The UFC card was terrible. I didnt even order it and i order everything. I also didnt orde the mayweather Marquez fight.

I doubt the mayweather fight did 1 mil buys.

People have been waiting for a big fight in boxing this entire year, especially after Pac/Hatton was a very short night. Cotto/Pac should do well also.

The first word in the article you posted says it all. RUMOR

That fight absolutely did not do 1.6 million buys. No fucking way in hell. I have a very hard time believing it did over 1 million.

Floyd makes me hate boxing. Seriously. It's this kind of shit that I hate. Guys are nothing but a bunch of spoiled bitches these days. Gone are the days of fighters who fight to be the best.

It's FAIR Because UFC Went OUT of it's Way to COMPETE w/Boxing Head to Head...Dana White Went OUT of HIS Way to COMPETE w/Boxing's Marquee Guy, Head to Head...White Even BADMOUTHED Boxing & the PPV in 1 of his Last Statements Prior to the Events...Remember the "Floyd vs. What's his Name" Speech??...

REED Likes BOTH Sports, but it's Time for Dana White To CEASE & DESIST w/Dragging Boxing Thru the Mud & PURPOSELY Competing w/It, for the Sake of MMA...The 2 Sports Can & HAVE Co-Existed...

That sounds around what I was expecting. UFC 103 was pretty much a throwaway card with a terrible main event featuring two past their prime fighters, one who hadn't fought in the UFC for years and who most average UFC fans know next to nothing about.

I'd think Dana and the UFC would be thrilled to pull 400K buys for UFC 103 with or without a competing Boxing PPV the same night.

I understand that PBF is 1 of boxings biggest draw. However people talk about how great UFC is and how boxing is dying. UFC should be able to put anypne on ppv and it dominate since its the greatest thing since sliced bread. The point I'm making is that UFC is great and its has caught on but boxing is still the top dawg. Like someone mentioned earlier that both can co-exist. I'll Holla 5000

Dude, Floyd is the one that scheduled his fight on the day of the UFC. The UFC was scheduled first!

If you think boxing is headed in a good direction that's all you. Mayweather is setting a horrible example for future generations of fighters. Sure it's a business, I will never deny that, but the importance of actually being the best fighter and PROVING it, is gone. Making the fans happy is not on the mind of most boxers these days.

I don't know about any of you, but I like to see the best fighters fight the best fighters. You're never going to get that with fighters like Floyd.

What are you gonna do if the fight did do 1.6 million? Where would that place PBF. He would be the only fighter who is able to put up big numbers fight after fight. I'll Holla 5000

I don't think so Pacman hasn't shown that he's able to draw those kind of numbers without another big name... If he was a draw like Maywether then maybe they could reach 2 Million. If Floyd did 1 Million i'd expect 1.5-1.6 for a Floyd-Pac match. If FLoyd really did 1.6 Million (which a doubt) then it could become interesting... :crafty:

Uh, nothing? Since I really don't care how many people bought the fight, I did not. I will continue to not buy any PPV's that don't interest me. As a fan, I want to be entertained. Nothing more, nothing less.

What I don't get is how so many people are willing to pay 50 bucks to watch a fight like Floyd vs JMM. As if it wasn't a forgone conclusion who would win. Don't you want something for your money? I do.

There was empty seats at the fight. Not to mention I am pretty sure it was papered up. Oh and the 1 million buys won't be legit.
