I have to take issue with the 'who cares that he's fat' brigade. I do and so should everyone posting here. As a long time boxing fan I can see the sport is in a downturn. UFC IS a legitimate threat to boxing when it comes to mainstream popularity.

Now you tell me: You're Joe Average who is not a diehard fan of either sport. Are you going to have respect for the one where a guy shows up to a WORLD TITLE FIGHT with C cup boobs?

Don't bring up Toney either. Toney was a great fighter but he ate himself up to HW. Everything that made him great came before the weight gain.

Arreola has heart but until he commits 100 percent to the sport he aspires to rule then he's a liability to the sport. The guy is on the world stage, the pinnacle of it all. The fight that has no doubt been in his mind since he first laced them up and he turns up looking like THAT? Is anyone really going to tell me it doesn't have an effect on his performance to be overweight?

On the other hand I was disappointed Vitali didn't actually knocked him out. I had seen Arreola hurt before by lesser punchers than Vitali. Had Vitali gone for the kill, I am sure he could had KO him cold. Count me as a hater: I never liked Arreola. He is nothing more than a hype job in a very pathetic division.

Arreola did exactly as expected, showed his toughness in a dominant losing effort. Its a shame he couldn't finish, although in this case, it would've been pointless to go out on his shield, its not like he had any great equaliser or hail mary shot, and he'd already proven his courage, he'll have more title shots I'd say - I hope he means what he said in the post-conference about getting in better shape, finally he might have an idea what fighting for the crown means, its the first time his natural talent and aggression couldn't compensate for his shortcomings
