Not really. He has a decent fanbase here, but he's certainly nowhere near as recognised as, say Hatton and Calzaghe are/were.

Moreover, I'm told by my friend at William Hill that all the money they are taking is for Kessler. I only know roch is favourite because he rang me yesterday to ask how much he should lump on Kessler at the price...

No. This is a RJJ argument. You have the torunament because it makes for good fights, and makes everyone good money.

As to the last part. So you get in every thread you can ripping Kessler, and are taking Dirrell or abraham in the tourney:lol:.

If I was gonna play the credentials game Id tear those apart, instead I can actually evaluate talent, and Kessler will win the tourney

AGAIN, if Kessler was Faaaaaaaar & Away THE GUY @ Supermiddle, they'd have a Tourney to Find him a Suitable CHALLENGER...EVERY GUY in the Tournament has Reasons for Fans to DOUBT them & Like REED Said the Other Day, ALL of Us R Predicting Off of a HUNCH More than Anything Else...

YOU Can "Evaluate Talent", Huh???...Yeah, that Chris Arreola Bandwagon of Yours is a SHINING Example of YOUR Ability to Evaluate Talent...

I have a feeling that Jermain will beat Abraham.....as with Jermain, it is always the case of seeing the fight out. I think he will as i don't see Abraham being so strong at this weight.

    Taylor UD

As for Froch-Dirrell....i really can't make a call. I'm not entirely sure if i have seen Dirrell fight.....if i have it was one of his early ones. He has a lot of pedigree, and i expect him to be a very smooth technician, something Froch certainly isn't. But what we know about Froch is that he has heart, a very good chin and power that carries through to the 12th....Dirrell has yet to answer those questions.

I have some reservations about Dirrell as well, because he probably has the weakest combination of chin and defense in the tournament. But, he may also has the best combination of speed and athleticism...and he covers up some of his defensive flaws by fighting in reverse (and running)...which, if nothing else, helps him keep distance...becuase his jab certainly doesn't do it.

I'm curious to see how his stamina holds up late in some of these fights, becuase I think he's only gone ten once...but testing his stamina means applying pressure, and he may have what it takes to get respect against some of these opponents early on to where he won't have to expend the kind of energy that will leave him tired late.

Froch has the chin, and showed he can carry his power....and who knows, maybe he'll get a small ring over there in the UK, which might help him locate Dirrell when he starts jogging...but Dirrell figures to land plenty on Forch as well, and he might well have what it takes to dominate this one.

JT is bigger, faster and stronger. The real Jermain Taylor has been forced to show up. JT by TKO 7. He is a Cady 32 vol Northstar @ SMW and Abraham is a Sabb. Looks like a top sports car but really just a sup VW.

Dirrel is the dark horse of the tourny. If Karl thought Taylor was fast; wow! If Andre's in shape he wins UD.:kick:

Dirrell AND Ward have the SIZE & TALENT to Beat Kessler...But It Remains to B Seen if they have the FORTITUDE...Though UNDERsized, Abraham is REED's Darkhorse, Because he HAS Shown FORTITUDE & TRUE POWER...

REED HASN'T Done So OFFICIALLY, but w/Each Day he Gets Closer & CLOSER to Picking Ward to UPSET Kessler...Whenever Illuminati Starts an "Official Predictions" Thread, REED'll Make his Final Decision Then...

I don't want to bet against Ward because I like him and it wouldn't be a miracle if he wins, but Kessler is the pick against him and I've got $50 that says so. So back it up if you wish to. mY eyes say you will be making a bad bet.

I understand Texas isn't the best place to learn implication and critical thinking.

But for the sake of statement

    1) the sig is clearly a joke

    2) In the bandwagon thread, there is a clause for any fights against a Klitschko. Did you ignore my posts regarding the Arreola/Klit fight?

In fact, I think my prediction Vit TKO 9, was considerably closer than the

"if Arreola DOESN'T Care Enough to Even Get in DECENT Shape for the Biggest Fight of his Career, REED Wishes a MAJOR Dose of FAILURE Upon Him...

Vitali KO 4, but Hopefully EARLIER..."

As you can see, I saw the toughness in Arreola, saw his potential to not give up and get blasted out early.

I think Taylor has a chance to be a spoiler. To me he's fighting the tourney favorite, though. If Taylor can stay focused he's got a real shot. But, I think Abraham is the best in the bunch, and expect him to stop Taylor mid-late fight.

I think Froch will get outboxed over 12.

I haven't seen Abraham fight so I won't comment on that one but I have to pick Froch over Dirrell in the other fight. I like Dirrell's style but he doesn't seem quite ready for primetime yet. Froch has a good beard, fights tall & can punch, I think he'll eventually wear Dirrell down & stop him late. I'll be pulling for Dirrell though.

It's hilarious how critical and dismissive Ring Magazine is of the Super Middleweight tournament. I can only hope it has nothing to do with GBP abnd it's close relationship to HBO.

If GBP doesn't appreciate allegations that The Ring magazine is biased, then it should not have purchased it.

Does anyone believe they purchased it because the magazine business is a fast growing industry? Or that The Ring is a cash-cow?

I feel a bit depressed with Jermaine being in this,..because there isn't much he can do to salvage his diminishing mind,.. he's been on the decline since the Hopkins fights, even had his trademark gas out in the later rounds of the first Hopkins fight,.. he can say whatever he likes, new training camp, new coach, feeling better than ever etc,.. mental deficits are something that can't be helped much,.. he's bound to 'stutter' in the ring, and I'll be suprised if he doesn't finish last,..I can only hope that in his mind, it's about the money and nothing more. I could only be pleasantly suprised if Jermaine wins any of his fights.

I tend to think you're under-rating Calzaghe's performance in that fight, in a few aspects, not the least of which may have been his toughness. Calzaghe got hit with some clean punches. Ward hasn't shown he can do that yet. He's a better athlete, more defensive, so maybe he can avoid them, early, but he's not strong for the division, physically - unlike Kessler - and his right hand is a rather impotent weapon. Having been ringside for a number of Ward's fights, it's something that's just blatantly apparent in person.

He's going to have to be great defensively, and also get respect with his left hand...which he may be able to do to with his speed to some degree (and his accuracy). Ward likes to go southpaw sometimes to get more out of his left, but I don't particularly like his defense from that stance...and Kessler is a pretty sharp puncher. Not a one-punch KO artist, but enough to hurt Ward, and his handspeed is good, punches are pretty direct, and for a Eurpoean, he uses a decent variety of angles (even the uppercut, like the ones he hit Calzaghe with).

Exactly, Joe took some heavy shots in that fight, despite those knockdowns against Roy and B-Hop I think Calzaghes beard is under rated.

Ward still has to prove that toughness. Kessler may be limited but he can bang.
