http://mma.fanhouse.com/2009/10/01/bobby-lashley-in-talks-with-strikeforce/ I think Waterman would be a good test for him. Waterman is by no means a top heayweight, but he's been in there with some good fighters (Randleman, Cro-Cop, Ricco, Herman) and ironically enough, also comes from a WWF background. TFK
it makes sense....Strikeforce's heavyweight roster needs bolstering and you can't deny that Lashley has potential....it's worth a punt
I don't think Lashley has anywhere near the potential of Brock Lesnar, but if he's gonna lure viewers to watch Strike Force, I'm all for it. TFK
::wasn't going for serious, more that I am just curiously spectating from the sidelines:kidcool: Lashley is a beast, not sure how he compares to Brock in MMA, but he will be a force in his own right. Yes, .... we agree:cheer:
Lashley is a stud wrestler. His biggest problem is he can't decide if he wants to be a pro wrestler or an MMA fighter. If he drops the Pro Wrestling and devotes all his efforts into MMA and gets with a top notch camp he will be successful. I am sure it boils down to the cash in his pocket.
I disagree, it just boils down to him not being very good at MMA. Look at the cans he's fought and will continue to fight. Bob Sapp? Ron Waterman is his supposed next fight. He hasn't even looked very impressive at this level.
I'm not sure what you disagree with. You don't think he is a stud wrestler? Or do you not agree that if he trains 100% in a good camp he can be successful in MMA?
Lashley hasn't shown the kind of dominant wrestling like Lesnar or anything. I really don't think he will ammount to much in the end, no matter where he trains. I just basically think Lashley sucks. ::
He has a wrestling background that is rival to that of Carwin's and Lesnar's. He's the real deal when it comes to wrestling. If he can transform that into MMA he will be extremely hard to deal with. But I agree, as of so far, he hasn't shown any type of dominance.
In spite of his size, he doesn't seem to have anywhere near the strength of Lesnar. He certainly doesn't have the speed or explosiveness. I guess it's unfair to compare him to Lesnar since Lesnar is a freak, a once in a lifetime athlete. Who knows, maybe one day Lashley will become a great fighter. But it's gonna take a lot longer of a time than it did Lesnar. TFK
He is certainly better than Lashley is right now though. Not sure why you felt the need to post this. We know how you feel about all things UFC.
I think Lesnar is overrated by the average knuckle dragger, very similar to how Kimbo was. But I actually think Lesnar is underrated by most hardcore MMA fans. Its hard for most to give him any credit due to his Pro wrestling background and his lack of MMA experience.
