Cotto looks much bigger than Manny it's going to be explosive.

Agreed. As we get closer to the fight the more people are siding with Cotto. :bears:

Its gonna be one helluva fight.

I think Manny is the rightful favorite now but if Cotto is able to make his power the difference, he'll win probably via stoppage.

Of course Cotto is much bigger. He's not faster though, in fact speed is pretty 1 sided. Cotto needs to be carefull early and go to the body.

    ILLUMINATI Roberto Duran

Cotto needs to keep his head/body low and attack Pacquiao body..none stop...none of this let me bounce around the ring "box/counter" him. Pacquiao uppercuts are not that great...from what i can remember..

I agree but Cotto isnt slow. This is where most people are making a big mistake. Cotto's combination punching is actually very fast.

Compared to Pacquiao he is slow. He might be slightly above average for a WW but Pacquiao is way above average for that weight. Cotto needs to box and go to the body early.

Speed isn't everything if you know how to neutralize it and Cotto showed in the Mosley fight that he does. Paquiao likewise has shown in JMM fights that having his speed neutralised is basically taking away his main advantage.

Cotto doesn't have the technical skill of a JMM, but Cotto's size and strength could more than make up for that difference.

That was a good question Max asked. If Cotto beats Pac does that make Cotto number 1 p4p?

    .....

Mosley isn't a southpaw and to be quite honest hasn't looked that fast to me in a bit. A lot easier to neutralize an older guy like Mosley who's lost a lot of speed. Cotto is going to have issues with Pacquaios speed and power so he better be carefull. Hell he had issues with Ricardo Torres speed and power as well.

Torres isn't known as a fast puncher. Cotto was probably dealing with Torres' deceptive hand speed and well timed punches rather than overall speed which is what Manny will be working with. Also Manny's punches shouldn't be much faster than what Cotto dealt with against Shane.

Manny's trainer (whose name escapes me right now) said they were planning on boxing for 12 rds, will probably focus on Manny's faster foot speed and I think that is where Manny has the best chance of winning the fight. If he tries to come in and blow Cotto out like he did Hatton, then I don't see much success for him.

    This.

Manny's footspeed and how Cotto handles it is the key to this fight.

Good point but if Cotto starts pumping out a double jab it will be interesting to see how Pac deals with that as well. Cotto can neutralize all that jumping around with the JAB. It's powerful enough to do some serious damage.

I dont judge the sizes of fighters anymore until they're both in the ring naked.

The question will be how will Manny handle a solid punch from a true welterweight with heavy hands. That's going to the question. Remember Cotto ain't the weight drained old ass DLH now is he the very limited Hatton so therefore he will be hit and hit often. If he can not handle Cotto's power then he will be done and could possibly get ko'd. Great great fight and I can not wait until this shit jumps off. I'll Holla 5000

Are you serious! The only way Cotto does not catch Manny is if Cotto's arms are cut off. Cotto is a world class fighter. I do not understand the under rating of Cotto. Hell look at what Morales did to Manny when they fought and one could say that Cotto is atleast on his level. But he will catch Manny and when he does Manny will know that he's in the fight of his life. I'll Holla 5000

Manny isnt the same fighter that lost to Morales the First fight.

I don't think Cotto will have major problems coming in at 145. When was the footage shot? Cotto is bigger and walkaround weight heavier than Pacquaio but they will probably be both 150-152 fight night.

I don't think Pacquaio will REMAIN inside long enough for Cotto to work his body. Second half of the fight, it will be the BALLZY great little man shooting ACCURATE combos on the bigger man, breaking HIM down and winning another divisional title setting up a huge fight with Mosley.

Have you seen Manny fight since he lost to Morales?

He is now a polished fighting machine, significantly better than the fighter that lost to Morales in every way. His defense is also far better than it was.

Ditto! Too many people people are underrating Cotto big time an are acting as though Pac is invincible. They are in for ANOTHER rude awakening.

Roach wants tougher low blow rule for Pacquiao-Cotto!

MANILA (Reuters) - Manny Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach will demand referees impose automatic disqualification for any deliberate low blow landed during the Filipino's challenge for Miguel Cotto's WBO welterweight title. Puerto Rican Cotto was docked a point for low blows in his successful defence against Zab Judah in 2007, but maintained the blows had been accidental.

Freddie Roach is really getting on my nerves! What a moron.:fightme:

This is very true. Manny has improved since the Morales fight but my point that I wanted to make was that Morales was bigger then Manny and was pretty much able to offset everything Manny did in that fight. And I think that Cotto will be able to do the exact sme thing. Also when was the last time Manny fought a guy of Cottos caliber that has his size, power, and skill? When was the last time Manny was hit by a true welterweight. Manny is gonna get it especially with him being so much smaller then Cotto. The question is will he be able to handle the fire power that Cotto possesses. Just like the question is will Cotto be able to handle Mannys speed. So many unanswered questions that will be answered but for those that claim that this will be a blwout I can't agree. I'll Holla 5000
