Jeffries is pure, unadulterated garbage. He will make a few quid fighting a loads of cans, then he will get hammered to death.

Degale is trash. He's one of the sloppiest fighters I can remember. If he gets any kind of title, it will be a reflection of the other fighters rather than his 'ability'.

Fury will do okay, simply because the HW division is shite. He's better than Sam Sexton or Derek Chisora IMHO and these two are already at Commonwealth/Euro level.

I forgot about Barker. The guy has good potential, and could easily develop into a world class fighter. He punches like a girl, though...

Brook has plenty of potential IMHO, he just lacks application.

    To a black Irishman?

Joking aside, Sutherland could be good. He'll do better than Degale, of that I'm certain.

Sutherland pissed me right of at the Olympics. He didnt even try win gold and seemed to be content with and medal. But after watching his last fight, I'm a fan again - well just a little bit.

Degale is O.K at best. IMO Sutherland stops him in the pro ring.

Even for today´s standards. He´ll end up being a main attraction in the british heavyweight round robin system with Sprott, Williams, Chisora, Skelton, Rogan, and all these other guys. Not getting any further unless heavyweight deteriorates even further once the Klitschkos retire.

In all honesty none bowl me over and I usually have a good eye for young talent, or at least a good eye for fighters who are gonna go on to interest me. I don't see an enormous amount of craft or fluidity in any of them. And the fuck is with all the southpaws? Can nobody fight orthodox any more?

Anyway, Shemenov & Quid Muhammed look like by far the pick of the bunch to me. :bears:Lara, Ortiz, Rigondeaux & Hately are certainly potential titlists.

I don't dismiss Lara, but would have him way down on the lists of best propsects. I'm still really big on Gamboa. His talent is off the charts, his biggest flaw is his attitude to go for the KO, and he is neat to watch.

    You were right.

Maidana is one dirty fuck, holding and rabbit punching, but dude has great power.

I dont think this is the end of Ortiz at all, he fought a guy who landed multiple murderous shots, thats all.

Wilfredo Vazquez Jr (Puerto Rico) 15 -0 (12 KO) will surprise a lot of people.:crafty: But he needs to stay away from Juanma Lopez.

Hernan Marquez (Mexico) is a puncher in the flyweight category 24-0 (18 KO) most of his KOs (15) have been within three rounds!

Beibut looks like the real deal. Still a bit sloppy and still quite green. Dominated an old Montell Griffin.

Keith Thurman! 9-0 now with a KO3 over Marteze Logan, not a bad step up for his 9th bout (10th). Thurman battled Charles Hatley in a PAL final that people still talk about.. He is now trained by Dan Birmingham.

Austin Trout, solid southpaw but a little conservative and considered boring. When he figures out how to finish guys he'll get on TV. Recently sparring partner for Shane Mosely. From Las Cruces, NM. Was Olympic alternate losing in finals to Vanes Martirosyan in same weight class and year as Berto.

Gerald Tucker is a can't miss prospect...if he can get the proper financial backing.

I got to see Mark Jason Melligen last week. Early to tell but he dominated a guy who looked like he'd be servicable in Mexico deep on an off-TV portion of the card. His look reminded me of Chong Li from the Bloodsport final match.
Thick bodied, solid 140lbr, looked like welterweight, southpaw Filipino.

Gamboa's biggest flaw is his chin. He's already pulling himself up off the canvas against the scubs he's been fighting. That's not good.

I think a lot of it is the placement of his chin.

Another guy who was very talented and looked like a can't miss on his way near the top got dropped a few times by some scrubby competition. His name was Zab Judah.

I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Melligan's fighting tonight on the Donaire ppv.

Shumenov got some mentions in here...he lost today. Sounded like he performed pretty well in a close loss in just his 9th fight, but that stamina was an issue.

Not sure if Demetrius Andrade's been mentioned, but if not, he deserves to be. 6-0 so far, 5 KO's. Fights again first week of September in a 6-rounder in Rhode Island.

Saul Alvarez is a Mexican prospect that's been getting talk south of the border. If you search for Saul 'Canelo" Alvarez on youtube there's plenty of fights up. His next bout is 9/15 in Mexico against Carlos Leonardo Herrera. He's 19 years old, 28-0-1, 21 KO's.

Liam Walsh, just watched his most recent fight from Friday, unfortunately this video doesn't show the whole fight, but you get an idea of his style. I think he is one of the very best british prospects....he wasn't on the Olympic team so he's not getting the hype that some of the others are. I like his temperament....in contrast to Billy Joe Saunders, a highly-touted Olympian who was also on the bill, he looks a lot more controlled.

His opponent here obviously isn't up to much, but this is the first time he has ever been stopped....
