Muhammed “King Moâ€￾ Lawal has signed a multi-fight deal with Strikeforce and could make his promotional debut as early as December, according to a source with knowledge of the negotiations.

The deal allows the undefeated Lawal, a NCAA Div. 1 All-American wrestling champion for Oklahoma State in 2003 and decorated international competitor, to continue competing on the Japanese circuit. There, the 28-year-old heavyweight has made a name for himself with four straight victories in the Sengoku Raiden Championship (formerly Sengoku) over the last year. Three of those wins have come by stoppage from strikes, while Lawal’s only decision came after he tore his ACL in the first round of his match with Ryo Kawamura at Sengoku “Seventh Battleâ€￾ last March.

Most recently, Lawal finished an expired Mark Kerr in only 25 seconds at M-1 “Breakthroughâ€￾ on Aug. 28.

Known for his flamboyant fight entrances, King Mo earned his regal moniker by wearing a crown to the ring with a bevy of beauties in tow.

Jeff Sherwood contributed to this report.

It is a good signing. King Mo has superstar potential. He isn't there yet, but this is huge for Strikeforce. It puts another big horse in their HW stable. Strikeforce is really smart that they are playing nice with the Japanese. I bet we will see cross promotions with Dream or Sengoku.

I think it was their plan all along to do some co-promoting with Dream.

I have a few friends who fight in Strikeforce, I have heard similar stuff. It would definitely be cool. I would love to see Shields/Aoki:mj:

Do you give Mayhem any shot at beating Shields? Aoki might be too small for Shields. They are about the same height but Shields is a 170 pounder and isn't his fight with Mayhem at 185?

I agree, Miller has a punchers chance. Its not impossible that he pulls a Marquardt and catches Shields with a one punch ko, but not likely. Aoki is a bit smaller, but he handled Alvarez decently. I just see it as a awesome grappling chessmatch. I bet we will see Alvarez in Strikeforce soon as well. That is a guy Strikeforce needs to grab. Alvarez/Diaz is long overdue.:partie:
