Foreman is just the type of an opponent who suits Vitali's style but, of course, in different class than the ones Klitschko has beaten up. Who wins? I pick Vitali by late stoppage. Foreman might win early rounds behind his jab but he wouldn't catch Vitali enough and Klitschko's far superior stamina would eventually decide it
Christ this overrating of Vitali must stop! The pre-Ali Foreman would fuck him up badly! For the last time... Vitali failed to beat an OLD, and UNMOTIVATED Lewis who was ripe for the picking. If you put that same Lewis in front of a young George, and Lummox woulda been on his way to the ER. Foreman had the reach, and jab to find Vitali, and although Klit has a good chin... I wouldnt bet on him holding up to George's power. Foreman KO 6. Whats next... Vitali beats a prime Holmes? LOL.
You simply can't handle somebody picking east Europeans over your favorites right? The old unmotivated Lewis (who had his two most ipressive performances in his two previous fights) was stylistically much more difficult opponent for Vitali than Foreman would have been. Foreman did have a jab to trouble Vitali but apart from that he would have had great difficulties at landing on Vitali, while Vitali would catch him often. What next, Leon Spinks beats prime Vitali?
First of all, I'm FAAARRR from a Foreman fan. I never liked him in fact. Second of all, I strongly disagree with a SEMI-RETIRED Lewis being tougher for Vitali than the circa 73 Foreman. Third of all, I'll tell you right now all the heavies in history I'd favor over Vitali: Ali Tyson Lewis: Obviously Holmes Foreman Bowe Frazier Liston Holyfield I'd give him a good chance at upsetting Frazier, Liston, and Holy. I'd give him a decent chance at Bowe. Really cant envision him beating prime versions of Ali, Lewis, Holmes, Tyson, and Foreman. Every other heavyweight in history not listed... Vitali beats.
He could not beat Chris Byrd...:: but seriously i doubt Vitaly beats a Heavyweight Holyfield......in that matchup Vitaly will be dealing with a guy dropping left hooks/right hands/uppercuts on his chin all fight long..and Vitaly height/reach won't be enough...
I consider the LEWIS that fought Vitaly and Rahman I the very same..only difference being that the Lewis that fought Vitaly was coming off a year layoff and was a few years older..... Rahman ko'ed Lewis.....Vitaly could not do the same...
I think Vitali would absolutely beat Holmes. Holmes didn't have the power to hurt Vitali. And he didn't have the height to control Vitali. He'd get beat, possibly stopped by Vitali for sure.
Really? Well I consider the Tyson that fought Michael Spinks and the Tyson that fought Kevin McBride the same. Tyson couldn't cope with the bigger man
What people seem to forget is Vitali was out of shape for that fight as well, if it works for one it works for both.
I just thought it was silly to say that Lewis who fought Rahman and Lewis that fought Vitali were the same version. You can't draw that straight conclusions from what the fighter weighs. How can you tell that his motivation, concentration and sharpness were exactly the same on dates that were two years apart? You can't
Vitali Klitschko beats Foreman. UD or late stoppage. Vitali isn't overrated, and until people start to give him some credit and a legitimate chance against the old timers he will continue to be criminally underrated. Being awkward or lacking in charisma does not make you a bad fighter. Lewis, Holmes and Ali beat him imo, Frazier would get a beatdown
Foreman went down from Jimmy Young's right hand and saw God. If Vitali hit him with his left, he would probably see Satan shitting on his chest.
That's strange, I distinctly remember the announcer saying "and the winner, by TKO, Chris Byrd".....I might be mistaken and might have to rewatch the tape, but I swear to God, I didn't hear "and the winner, by TKO, Torn Rotator Cuff".
Did foreman have a potentially fucking career ending injury? If your rotor cuff is severely torn you don't continue fighting unless its for your life or worse. Vitally showed as much heart in the Lewis fight as Foreman ever did.
So, how do you explain Evander Holyfield continuing to fight the same Chris Byrd, with a torn rotator cuff, instead of quitting?
::newsflash, injuries are not always the same. Or was it because of the corrupt American referees that Vitali was stopped on cuts against Lewis while Holyfield was allowed to continue against Holmes even though both had a cut
Agreed, all injuries are not always the same and Holyfield's injury was much more severe than Vitaly's, yet Holyfield never quit like Vitaly did (and, unlike Vitaly, Holyfield didn't have a foot advantage in height and 30 kilos advantage in weight, that Vitaly enjoyed over Byrd). Yet, Holy never quit, never surrendered.
Vitali doesn't beat Foreman. Period. Foreman's jab and more importantly his ability to cut off the ring makes Vitali VERY uncomfortable and makes him fight at a pace he isn't comfortable with. Frazier was simply too small to deal with Vitali. A prime Holyfield beats Vitali all day everyday. Vitali would have moments, but Evander's movement would give him problems. Bowe beats Vitali...simply too well rounded (when in shape) Holmes beats Vitali...if Lemmon landed right hands, Holmes lands his right hand. Holmes didn't have power like Foreman but that right cross was tough to see coming when coming in behind his jab. Vitali looks great with nothing's coming back at him...I don't believe Foreman, Holmes or Holyfield would take issue with throwing leather back at him.
You do remember that the prime Holyfield was involved in pretty tough scrap with old Michael Dokes and lost multiple rounds to both Foreman and Holmes, both of who were much slower than Vitali of today, and nearly got knocked out by Bert Cooper?
