For all the talk of Machida being honorable and Rampage a punk and a clown, at least, Rampage had the integrity to admit defeat when he was awarded a gift by the judges and didn't spew some bullshit like Mashida did <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/i9p1wNJnXWA&hl=fr&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/i9p1wNJnXWA&hl=fr&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Never saw Bonner-Griffin entirely so I can't say, but it's really hypocritical of you to call PBF-JMM a boring fight when it was more technical and had way more action than last night fight
I never gave an opinion on that fight :nono: but it cool,we can both agree that last night made MMA look bad.
my bad and yes, the decision made MMA looked very bad, Nog-Rizzo or Randleman-Rutten weren't even in the same ballprak as that bullshit
So the Fight was BORING yet CONTROVERSIAL Enough to Warrant a RE???...Decisions, Decisions for the UFC... REED:hammert:
I enjoyed the fight last night, and Griffin-Bonner was a better fight, and I don't even like that fight that much.
I smelled shenanigans when I heard that all 3 judges had it48-47, imo, at least one should had Shogun by at least 4 round to 1
The judges was just doing what they are told. The UFC takes stabs at boxing but last night showed there no better.
..and they don´t even have rival organisations and promoters. It was strictly a protection of all the investment in Machida. And if Machida doesn´t improve mroe people will just kick the shit out of him. ::
Yep.Shogun has broken the Machida code.Fighters with good Muy Thai will use the same strategy for sure.
2 judges gave the first 3 to Machida, one judge gave 2-3 and 4 to Marchida, if giving the 4th to Machida isn't corruption than I don't know what is
can only say called it was an easy fight for shogun, machida was really innefective . Terrible, terrible decision. Ps rampage was the shit with his afro
let me tell you something, fighter with good boxing will also, pressure him, counter him and beat him pretty easlyy. As I said, he's an overated fighter. This fight was similar to the sam greco fight back in k1 hero, to the difference that machida wasn't able to take him to the ground (nor did he seem interewsted in going to the ground)
Agreed, was a pretty poor card on paper and it was even worse after all. what was the deal with gleason tibeau. Was gettin the take down at will, yet, was always upping his body so he allowed neer to get to his feet everytime. Should have least tried to lay on him and explode once in a while. Even tough not making the weight is very unprofessional, I must admit I'm really high on anthony johson. Might be a fronruinner, but he's realy fast and powerful. never saw his wrestling but from what I heard it's supposed to be very good. Next year, him agains t GSP will be uge
Machida needed a gift to beat a shot Shogun. That was on the level of Bisping-Hamil for the worst decision in UFC history.
I dunno if the Machida code has been cracked...i think he'll come back better. He's just been so used to his counter style perplexing his opponents, and he met a guy who was able to often get off first. He needs to make tactical adjustments....know when to be aggressive....i think in a rematch he would try and force Rua on the defensive more often. I thought he lost....it was definitely a reality check. I know Dana doesn't like immediate rematches, but although this one wasn't a crowd pleaser (i enjoyed it, but i can see many of the knuckleheaded fans not being too eager for a rematch), i think this warrants one
Well he's not stupid, if they want to win a rematch, he can't fight the same way....he doesn't have to be aggressive per se, but he cant afford to be so cagey
Only thing I learned from this card is Cain Veleasquez is the real deal. Cain has great control over guys, he's going to run into problems if he ever fights another big wrestler though, like Carwin or Lesnar, his dominant control will be gone. As for Machida and Shogun, that was one boring ass fight. Neither guy did much of anything, especially Machida. I do not ever want to see a rematch of that fight, I don't care who really won.
It was mainly Machida that was fighting like a bitch. Shogun was attacking cautiously, but he was the one coming forward and getting off first. He won the fight hands down. He was the aggressor, he landed more shots, he landed the harder shots.
I agree with all of that, Shogun just did more. The general consensus among everyone I watched the fight with was it was a robbery. One hell of a fucking boring robbery. ::
