Dana has been saying the same stuff about Roy Nelson forever. Even saying he'd never fight in the UFC because he's a fat ass. This was way before he was on TUF.

sure, I remember alot of it, but you wouldn't think if Roy was in the Finals he would rip him like that. But then again, this is Dana I am referring to....nevermind:lol:

Nobody is safe from Dana's big mouth.

Maybe Roy isn't in the finals, I wouldn't be too surprised if he lost.

I thought the one huge guy who fought looked like he had some potential. I think he lost on the second episode and gassed out and basically got robbed out of a third round. I'm blanking on his name right now. If he improves his cardio he could do some damage.

Big baby might have some skill. He is certainly strong.

Are you thinking of Wes Sims?? He fought in the UFC before. If that is who you are referring to, we disagree, I think he's garbage. Big Baby is a dark horse. Very raw, but definitely some potential with his size and strength. Has the body that the UFC likes to promote out of there Heavies too. I could see them feed him a few cans out of the show to get his feet wet.

Dude! you really thought I was talking about Simms? I'm hurt deeply.

Wes Shivers is the guy I was talking about. He looked like he may have some potential if and only if his cardio can be improved.

As Much as REED Wanted to DISlike him, REED was Fairly IMPRESSED w/the Stand-Up Game of Meathead Mitrione...Sure, he was COMPLETELY GASSED by the End of the 1st til the End of the Fight, but REED LIKED What he Saw for the Most Part...

Nice Assortment of Shots, Respectable Punching TECHNIQUE (When he Wasn't Winded), GOOD Handspeed for a Big Man & an OUTSTANDING Workrate...Even when he was GASSED, Dude Kept On Throwing...He Even Worked in Some Kicks Too...

It "Only" Took til the 2nd to Last Fight of the 1st Round, but REED was FINALLY Impressed to Some Degree by 1 of these Heavyweights...

Fuck Dana White and the UFC for promoting Carwin/Lesnar for the next UFC. It's been 3 day since the fight was cancelled. Plenty of time to pull the TV ads.:shit::shit::shit:

I think Mittrione definitively has some potential, he just beat a former UFC fighter while having no pro experience. He got good reflexe and timing for a big guy, but he's already over 30, so not much time for him to improve. And what the hell is wrong with NFL guy's and cardio, you'd think, being former high level pro athlete, they'd have a gas tank

It's the Start-Stop Nature of Football...U're Only Going FULL BLAST for 5-10 Seconds @ a Time, then U REST for Up to 45 Seconds...U DON'T Have to Have Good Cardio to B a Successful Football Player...Typically, when a Skill Position Player (Usually THE BEST Pure Athletes on the Field) Scores on a Loooooooooooooong Run, He'll Spend the Next 5-10 MINUTES w/an Oxygen Mask...When 1 of the Lineman is Forced Into a Loooooooooong Run, they're Typially NOT Productive for the Remainder of the Game...

LOL:lol: I forgot all about Shivers. He did look decent, I wouldn't mind seeing a fight at the finale between him and Big Baby, that is if Big Baby isn't in the actual Finale.

I agree with you REED. That first round, Matt looked pretty good, especially for the first half of the round. I got to admit, my jaw practically dropped the first time he dropped Junk. If Matt gets his head on straight and listens to Rashad and his guys, he could win this show. Now I'm not jumping on board the Meathead bandwagon, he obviously has little or no ground game. But like REED was saying, his standup when not gassed looked pretty crisp. I was actually impressed that he was throwing jabs and setting up power punches.

By the way, Is it just typical TUF protocol now how they hyped up Junk as the best fighter on the show, the savior of Team Rampage, and he goes out and lays an egg? That seems to be a tactic they have been using lately. I started to notice it in the UK/USA TUF.

That fight was a fucking disgrace. I can't believe how bad this season is.

That seriously looked like a toughman fight, especially towards the end of the first round. Two tired, sloppy bums, throwing sloppy, wide, looping, shitty haymakers at each other.

    Fucking hell.

I don't think this season is that bad. There are some decent fighters. Mitrione looked tough for two minutes. That is a LONG way to go to fighting 15 minutes. But damn, can the guy be any more unlikable? What an annoying nutjob.

Junk looked terrible. The coaching showed in this fight bigtime. Junk should have and could have won, but he sucked it up.

I just saw Marcus Jones' debut fight--he won with a kimura and looked impressive. Won't be surprised if he does well next week.

no shit, Meathead is very unlikeable. The last two minutes of the first and all of the 2nd looked like a toughman. That was actually a good analogy. But Mitrione looked good coming out the gate, I was really suprised.

Where did you see Marcus Jones' debut fight?

Marcus has another fight on youtube where he loses by TKO. Looks like he just gasses out. That seems to be the downfall of all these giant NFL guys.

There are two fights of his on youtube, one he wins by TKO one he loses by TKO. Not sure if either of those is his debut though. He didn't win either by submission.

REED pointed out that as great as athletes that are in the NFL, the conditioning is more for explosion rather than endurance. If they were to train regularly for a top notch camp for six months, conditioning wouldn't be an issue. One of my favorite camps is American Top Team. You can almost guarantee a fighter from that camp comes in shape to go to war for 5 rounds. Mike Brown and Thiago Alves come to mind right away.

I thought the fight was pathetic. Wild swinging, no defense, even turning their backs on each other numerous time. Neither guy really hav a backup plan. Junk couldn't even take his ass down. If any fighter wants to consider themsef on the elite level, they better damn well be able to last for the duration of 2 rounds. Just pathetic.

I especially liked when Dana looks into the camera and says "Man! This is a fight!"

    What an idiot.

Dana DEFINITELY Over Sold the Fight, but REED was GENUINELY IMPRESSED by Mitrione's Stand-Up, til he Got TIRED....He Can B a VERY GOOD MMA Level "Boxer"...HANDSPEED, FEINTS, WORKRATE, Good TECHNIQUE (While he was Fresh), Good VARIETY of Shots....

& he Seemed to TAKE a Good Shot Too...w/Cardio Work, Mitrione Could Make for Some FUN UFC Heavyweight Bouts...Mitrione vs. Kimbo Would B a Stand-Up WAR....

I think he was sticking it to Roy Nelson when he said that, the camera pans to Nelson right after he says it and he looks pissed.

In last night's match up both 'combatants' lived up to their (nick) names. Mittrione is a real meathead, and Junk is just...junk.

They especially did it with Demarcus Johnson....he was like the US' main guy, and he got his arse handed to him in the final....Jason Wilkes schooled him.

Remember the Brit "Stapes"? I think his name was Stapleton, they talked him up like he was the second coming. Then he gets subbed in the first round:lol:
