Roach saying Cotto tried to quit in round 9 vs Clottey is bullshit....but i'm excited at ROACH prediction of an early KO victory for Manny Pacquiao....:bears:

First round KO for Pacquiao going by the transcript...

Pacquiao's willingness to trade will be his downfall. I think Cotto stops him late.

    What willingness to trade?

This isn't the same Pacman that fought Morales and Barrera.

Pacman was very disciplined and cautious against Oscar and Hatton (apart from when he pretty much realised Hatton was there for the taking, and even then, he was still crafty in his attacks).

Agreed. He's using his footspeed and angles a lot more than he used to years ago. Not only has he improved in that regard, but it's a matter of necessity when fighting bigger opponents.

Sure Pac still has blistering shots and could certainly hurt Cotto, but he doesn't need to win with firepower. It's more important at this stage to not get hit.

If you think he's going to use angles and outbox Cotto, think again. Hatton and DLH are bad fights to use as examples in this matchup. Cotto's defense will force Manny to fight closer than he did against both DLH and Hatton. Hatton's wide open stance and lunging made it easy for Manny to be precise. Don't get me wrong. They were both brilliant performances but this is a different style altogether.

If I'd last seen Pacquiao's fight against Barrera or Morales, I would agree with you. But he was much smarter and more respectful of his opponent's offense against ODH and Hatton. I think against Cotto he'll be even more careful. I'm not saying he wins necessarily, only that his downfall will not be his willingness to trade.

If anything, I think his down-fall will be his inability to stop Cotto's pressure.

Roach is simply trying to get to Cotto's head. Problem with this is Cotto is not bothered by none of his talk LOL. It's a waste of time.

The problem with Cotto's defense is it blocks his vision. That could be the perfect oppurtunity for Pacquiao to land a very fast punch that Cotto won't see coming and it could be Cotto's undoing. Also I can't even recall the last time Cotto's glove defense has been effective for him. I think it was the Mosley fight.

I started out picking Cotto but his dismisal of a speedy sparring partner and using a nutritionist as his trainer while Manny has Roach has made me jump back on the Manny express. So I'm going with Manny by mid rds KO.

Pacquaio WANTS somebody to try to lead against him. In his past life, Marquez gave him trouble because he was so cautious and countered Pacquaio's agression.

Cotto, the bigger man, will amazingly get on his bike early. Pacquaio will be measured and never allow himself to touch the ropes whenever Cotto leads. But Pacquaio constant foot and head movement will give Cotto a lot of trouble. Still Cotto will have success limiting damage with sheer SIZE being a big factor early but will succumb to the Filipino's high pace late.

Less than two weeks away. Man, can't wait for this one....
