Awesome! No more of Wlad's scared jabbing and right hand knockouts, no more of Vitali's late stoppages, David Haye showed how it is done! He didn't talk trash for nothing

If he is more positive against Wlad, which I expect him to be, he can cause a shock and KO him early, although I would still have Wlad as favourite. Can't see him beating Vitali though.

Haye truly showed all those fat, unmotivated heavyweights what you can do when you train seriously and give everything you have!

Wasn't it Haye who said he was ashamed to be a fighter after watching Wlad-Sultan. I guess they moved too much forwards for his liking

How can you get so excited about Haye's clinch-hold-and run boring points decision against a no-talent giant? Both Wlad & Vitali can KO him silly if he fights like that. But yeah, Haye is a better fighter than Valuev, but I'll love to see him next against Ruiz. That will be interesting.:stir:

Are you kidding? Haye did nearly as well as Larry Donald. Who would NOT get excited?

haye set himself up for this with all his bs before the fight. It was deadly boring, but when you think that he went straight to valuev from cruiserweight with only a monte barrett in between, its modestly impressive. What disappointed me was his workrate, the Ruiz fight is a good next test.

All joking aside, Haye is a decently exciting fighter. I know yesterday was boring, but Valuev is a freak. It can't be easy fighting a literal Giant. He did what he had to do. I don't think he is very good. I think he is chinny and is stamina is awful, but you don't have to be a great heavy nowdays. He is good enough to beat Wlad possibly.

The fact of the matter is this:

Evander Holyfield was significantly more impressive vs. Valuev than Haye was.

True, but it was obvious to me that Valuev didn't train and two he was carrying Evander. He didn't seem to want to hurt him. I agree with the fact that Holy was more impressive, but I don't think it is as meaningful a fact.

Yep. Smaller and slower guy too.

I do think Haye has a good chance against Wlad in the early rounds though.

Fair. Although I did read that Valuev was heavier for the Haye fight?

    Either way, decent point.

Still, Haye looked like shit, IMO. He did not separate himself from the Holy's and the Ruiz's of the world, which is really disappointing.

No, I don't. I am 50 years old, have been watching boxing religiously since my teens, but with the exception of a few fighters out there, this is the worst era of boxing. I am not missing much watching fights like Dawson vs Johnson II or Valuev vs Haye. :shit:

Right, so don't pretend to have seen fights that you haven't.

    Man, I can't believe you're 50. That's really embarrassing. I was smarter when I was 12.

I just looked at boxing rec and that is true. In fact, 310 is one of the lowest weights he fought at. I just heard rumors he was not in shape and he looked much fatter than usual although his weigh in does not support that.

Oh, so you are OLDER than 12? because you write like a 12 year old.

BTW I never said I watched the Valuev-Haye fight. Even if it was free I would not have wasted my time. But I did read the round for round postfight report in another website this morning.

No, but you pretended to have an opinion on it without seeing it.

    It's cool Panchy.

That performance by Haye yesterday was a terrific exhibition of the science of boxing, hit and not be hit in return.

He may have done that from the third round on with a broken right hand as well.

It was tedious yes, but he did what he had to do to win.

It will be a far different fight vs. Ruiz who is more his size, and I think may be a damn good fight.

I agree with the other posters who pointed out how Richard Schaeffer is all over the guy now in a business sense as he knows big money when he sees it.

I would love to agree with you, because I'm huge on hit and don't get hit.

Rarely do I argue that a fighter was doing too much to avoid a fight, but yesterday Haye didn't do nearly enough hitting, IMO.

*shrugs shoulders* Well, you can have an opinion on events you never witnessed, but just read about.

whatever, you do good for a 12 year old.

    Here is a lolipop...
