agREED (for the Most Part)...REED HATES to Go Overboard, but this is PATHETIC...U CAN'T Fight Paul Williams on the 5th, yet the Death Defying Staph Infection will B HEALED 2 Weeks Later???...Even if his Shit IS Healed REED Can't Believe that Team Pavlik OR Arum would Schedule a Fight THAT Soon After the BIG Fight he Pulled Out of...

The Williams Fight was a Chance for Pavlik to RECAPTURE Some of the Goodwill he Acquired After the 1st Taylor Fight...But if he REALLY Go's Thru w/this BULLSHIT, he'll have Officially Hit ROCK BOTTOM...

It's getting so hard to be a fan of boxing anymore because of this crap and fighters who promise excitement but deliver boredom. Roy Jones vs Darius didn't happen, Bernard Hopkins vs Jones II didn't happen, Mayweather vs Williams/Cotto/Mosley isn't going to happen, everyone avoiding everyone seems to be the norm today. Fighters won't travel overseas anymore, they always want a 80-20 split in their favor thus fights never get done. And even when something decent does happen, the outcome seems to always be the same lately, one fighter runs around the ring boring everyone to death either winning a boring UD or contraversial decision and we as fans never get any closure on anything it seems.

Espino is a "Contender" Alumnus...There's NATHAN Remotely Meaningful or Spectacular about him...Pavlik was Catching Flack for Scheduling a Fight w/Sergio Mora, who Actually WON "The Contender"...NOW he's Scheduling a Guy that BARELY Made a Ripple on the Show...

They can't reschedule Pavlik/Williams for that date? Pavlik is obviously ducking Williams.

As I've been saying for just on 18 months now. Kelly Pavlik is not the guy any of us thought he would be. We know it and now his camp knows it.

This is who Kelly Pavlik is.

I never thought he was very good, partly because I never thought JT was an that really is his signature wins. I never took him to be a coward/Mayweather businessman type fighter.

What are you implying exactly? That is camp wants the Williams fight and Kelly doesn't? Is this some sort of pattern you have detected and what are some other examples?

It's hard for me to call Pavlik a coward since he's always faced tough opponents, he even went up in weight to fight Hopkins, but this shit is unacceptable, if this was his camp's decision, he should protest and ask for a better opponent.

Wow, somehow this takes the luster off of Froch's and Abraham's KO's of Jermain Taylor and makes Hopkins look kinda bad.

The article also says Pavlik wanted to fight Williams on the 19th to give him a couple extra weeks and Williams camp turned it down.

Either way, doesn't it make sense Pavlik would test his bad hand against a lesser opponent, rather then against Williams, regardless of how close the fight is scheduled to the original fight date?

    More room for error. :dunno:

...........and yet somehow, it enhanced the legacy of Roy Jones Jr.. :bears:

Well it makes Team Pavlik look worse, if they actually offered Williams the fight on Dec. 19th. They cannot seriously expect Williams to gamble on Pavliks health for a 3rd time. My thought was that they would like to test the hand against a lesser opponent, but also have the flexibility to just cancel such a minor fight without much uproar, if his hand isn´t healed properly.

It is incredibly difficult at this point to rationalise Pavlik's inability to fight Williams based on his injury. This looks very, very poor and it becomes more and more likely that the Hopkins fight has done irreparable damage to Kelly Pavlik.

Yes, we should bite and scratch in 20 page defences of Fraud's policey on careful selection, but on the otherhand, we should abruptly shreik how wrong it is when other fighters do it. Fraud has set this precedent, a precedent you argued so hard for in the past, it's a time for celebration, not resentment.

Pavlik is definitely ducking Williams like I suspected all along. He NEVER intended to fight him.:nono:

If PBF is going to catch flak for not fighting Mosley, then Pavlik deserves as much if not more because PBF would be avoiding a bigger guy, whereas the middleweight king is ducking an overblown welterweight. Very sad.

Williams could have waited 2 more weeks. Postponements suck...but that's boxing.

Williams has every right to move on...but this doesn't seem like some grave injustice to me...I bet they fight eventually. I wouldn't fight hum though...that fucker is tooooo big for the divisions he fights in.

Well, it does sort of substantiate Pavlik's request that the fight be post-poned until December 19th. On the other hand, it's not likely that Pavlik's camp was at all surprised that William's team refused to post-pone the fight again. The question is, was Pavlik's team counting on that?

Still, if Pavlik was in fact sick for the Hopkins fight, it's not hard to understand why he wouldn't want to fight Williams unless he's 100%. And at the same time, it's easy to see why, if he's not 100%, that he'd still be willing to fight Spino, both to make some coin and stay busy.

It's disappointing for sure. And Pavlik's career has definitely suffered, whatever the reason for his pulling out of the Williams fight.

But let's be clear: it's not like Pavlik isn't feeling this either. He's no doubt going to make much less fighting Spino then he would've Williams. And it's not as if he's going to enter the top 5 P4P on the heels of a victory over Spino. And at least Spino is the same size as Pavlik!

I think for now there's no reason to think Pavlik won't go on to take on the best guys. I guess until he resumes doing so, it's only natural that he be criticized.

The bottom line is it's difficult to be a fan of Kelly Pavlik's these days.
