Agreed. Lets not forget that some 18 months or so ago Abraham was derided by many, especially here, as being a complete, over-protected Euro bum whose best win was a controversial, points win over Miranda.

His stock has risen somewhat since, with his re: win over Miranda and his recent win over Taylor, but at the time that Pavlik was looking to fight Hopkins, Abraham was largely considered irrelevant.

No, I'm defending what I see as a legit injury and an unfortunate situation. I don't blame Williams for taking another fight and I don't blame Pavlik for not wanting to fight Williams at anything less than 100%. Nobody gave a shit what his excuse was for the Hopkins fight whether they were legit or not, so why the hell would he take yet another tough fight at less than 100%? The Espino fight is nothing but a keep busy fight and a winnable fight at far less than 100%.

In which case, my argument would be that it is warranted to criticize Pavlik for claiming an injury, requesting a 7 week postponment in order for it to heal, and then shortly thereafter schedule a fight for two weeks after the original fight date. It looks like ducking to me.

 

Break down Pavlik's creative ducking plan for me REED. Explain to me why he would ever sign to begin with if he was just going to pull out. PLease explain what he would have to gain by doing this. He also rescheduled twice, he could have pulled out each time.

I guess there has to be more to everything than meets the eye to some people, I'm just going with the obvious.

You have to take into consideration that Paul Williams is a good fighter, Espino is not. "Ready" for Paul Williams and "Ready" for Miguel Espino are two different things. I do not blame Pavlik for not wanting to face Williams at less than 100%. Do you?

Everyone is making a big deal about Pavlik "Taking another fight" as if the opponents are even close to the same level. If he went out and Scheduled a fight against someone with a pulse, it would be a legit gripe, but this is Miguel Espino we are talking about here.
