Agree to disagree there on the resume-

Hernandez, Chavez, Corrales, Castillo x2, Hatton (before Pac), DLH (before Pac) and Marquez

Its right up there with Pac's imo. Regardless I don't think its fair to justify Pac's lower PPV numbers by saying "Hatton and DLH's PPV power was diminished because Floyd beat them first" yet when Floyd fights someone that Pac beat (Marquez) he STILL outdraws him by a longshot on PPV sales and you still have a rationalization for it. Anything but giving the proper credit to the guy who clearly outdraws Pac in PPV sales

Floyd has outdrawn Pac at every turn in PPV sales. If he fought Cotto he would have outdrawn him. Until now Pac's biggest wins were over guys who were so "tainted" by Floyd beforehand that their PPV drawing ability was considerably affected (by over a million buys in the case of DLH) yet PACQUAIO deserves the lion's share of the purse?

I disagree. I think 50-50 is absolutely fair, I actually think Floyd should get a 55-45 split, but there is no doubt he at least deserves parity

You can't compare Pacman - Oscar to Floyd - Oscar.

If you remember, Oscar - Floyd was hyped to FUCK. It was the first 24/7, there was a lot of buzz about it, and it was marketed to fuck.

Oscar - Pacquiao, far less so, and a lot of people thought it was a joke of a fight.

Plus, pre Oscar, Floyd was much more known than Pacman.

You can compare the Hatton numbers somewhat, seeing as both those fights were post Oscar. And guess what, they are pretty similar.

But the most fair comparison is their last fights, which Pacman sold more.

    Pacman 60/40 :kidcool:

And you know as well as I do that Floyd is fully justified in such thinking.
The fighter who's a bigger draw should get more money. That's how it is, that's how it always been, and all boxing fans will be very disappointed, if Floyd agrees to anything, less than 65/35 split.

Bottom line if this fight doesn't happen...for whatever reason it will be MAYWEATHER who will look BAD..he is the one that has a reputation for DUCKING/AVOIDED fighters...

what comparison would be fair? you guys have excuses for all the PPV fights they have against common opponents.

DLH no good? Marquez no good? How about Hatton - both Pac and Floyd had notoriety from their DLH bouts... and the numbers were much closer, but who got more PPV buys? The answer is Floyd

To be fair, Bammer didn't go into the gutter first. Calling Filipinos homeless and shoeless is pretty shitty...especially in light of the typhoons and tsunami of recent months. I think both guys stepped over the line although Bammer definitely picked it up a few notches.

Spare me your E insults, your not putting fear in my heart

Its a no win situation for Floyd. He won't get any credit for beating a great undersized fighter and if he turns down the fight he's a bitch, but he's has himself to blame for this though.

i just speak the truth. if you think mayweather jr wont get credit for defeating a hall of famer who is at his peak, like pacquiao, then you have pond water for brains.

Had Mayweather not been a bitch in the past an ducked/avoided guys like Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Mosley or other top Welters he would not be in this position....right now if Pac vs. May doesn't happen most people will blame Mayweather....

Mayweather past ducking/avoided for whatever reason/excuse.....Arum, $$$, Non-ppv star, defeats., etc..etc..will come back to bite him in the arse...

But Hearns KO'd Duran because he was naturally bigger, much stronger, longer and has ferocious one punch power at 154 pounds.

*What if* Floyd outboxes, out-counters, out-thinks and completely outclasses Pacquiao and wins a lopsided decision?

you are just not a bright individual if you think mayweather jr would receive no credit for defeating pacquiao.

historically, the victor of that fight will certainly receive heaps of praise.

Actually both were against the rules in this forum. No personal insults. It doesn't get much more personal than taking cheapshots at Filipinos when you know that the person you're targeting is a Filipino. And I get along better with REED than with Alabama Man, so I'm not playing favorites.

Regardless I didn't make the rules, and I'm no longer a moderator. Plus, in all fairness, Bammer did go much further over the line.:dunno:

So how long is he gone for?

On the one hand, Cotto is undeniably more marketable and a slightly bigger name than Marquez, BUT, to even it out, it was Floyd's comeback fight, which always has more interest than just a run of the mill tuneup or whatever :kidcool:
