 I wonder if he even knows what he's talking about.

What I think he was trying to say:

    Pac > Jnr
    Snr > Pac

He didn't even have a lot of fights in his pro career and he sounds jacked up!!!

    I don't know, Trey.

I had the same dressing room with him when he beat Art McKnight in Houston in 1978, and he was a very nice, articulate young man back then, very sporting, he loved boxing and gave me encouragement after I had won an amateur fight to kick off the card in the Summit.

Maybe you are correct, I have not spoken to the man in 31 plus years, but if you take a look at his fight with Ray Leonard on youtube (the next fight after McKnight) he was holding his own with the Immortal until he was stopped, Howard Cosell even wrote about that particular fight in his second autobiography.

He was brought in to be a sacrificial lamb against a power hitter named Jose "The Threat" Baret in the early 80's, and stopped the hyped Baret on national television.

He was a very feared and avoided fighter in his heyday in the 70's, and that could explain why he didn't have more fights, and you are correct in bringing up his rather short pro fight experience when compared to other contenders of his era.

i get it...somethings not right with Pac, so he doesn't want Floyd to fight him, even though he thinks Floyd would easily win anyway

I had spoken with Bert Sugar yesterday and mentioned this interview to him. He felt Sr. was rude to this chick. Bert said he knows the woman interviewing Sr. and she is a sweetheart, etc...

I watched Floyd in his fight against Ray Leonard. He did show a good account of himself. Maybe it is a combination of drugs and punches that leaves him where he is now. By the way, he had that serious nappy fro goin on in the Leonard fight!:kidcool:

i thought the chick was hopeless....he said at the beginning of the interview that he hadn't yet talked to Floyd and can't speak for him...but she still asked all these questions about what Floyd plans to do :shit:

AgREED, Ray has always maintained that Floyd gave him his toughest go before he won the title from Benitez.

    Interview was TELLING.

He thinks his son SHOULDN'T fight Pacquaio becuase he has his reasons. One is he thinks Floyd CAN'T beat Pacquaio.

Or that his son's resume is not better than Pacquaio's, so he makes UNPROVEN allegations up as to DIMINISH other people's accomplishments.

Pacquaio MUST be cheating since his son can't beat him.
