I woulda got 2 outta 3 right if Dirrell-Froch was scored properly. My predictions for stage 2 are:

    Ward TKO's Taylor

    Kessler TKO's Froch

And my one upset pick... Dirrell UD's Abraham.

Congrats to Ward. I have been one of the few defending him for the past few years. I never said he'd be the man in the division, but I thought it was clear that his skillset would serve him well in almost any type of matchup.

I was at the fight tonight, and Kessler looked drained and slow from the opening bell. I thought Ward did a great job of feeling Miekle out and pressing him when he felt he had the advantage.

Although I felt he had the syle to give Kessler problems, I was shocked that Andre did very little holding and made Kessler fight when he didn't want to. I never would have expected that.

Bottom line: Ward deserved to have his shot at the top guys and he certainly made the most of it. I think he beats Dirrell in a boring fight. That should be enough to put him into the semis.

Yup, didnt see the fight but not surprised. Wards a very physically strong fighter. I was in shock at the way he was able to bully and just manhandle Miranda around the ring when they fought.

Dirrell fought like a bitch and deserved to lose. The sad part is he probably won't actually learn from that loss because he's convinced it was a good performance. He'll be dreadful against Abraham, who puts on a lot more actual pressure than does Froch. Unless he catches Ward cold, he'll lose a boring decision there.

Despite What Ward Had or HADN'T Done in his Career, he NEVER Looked as ROBOTIC & BASIC as Kessler Did...Thus, REED Noted that Ward was the "More VERSATILE" Fighter...The Shit was OBVIOUS, Honestly...

REED SHITTED on Kessler's Career JUSTIFIABLY...

    i picked ward to win:crafty:

tried to tell "matchup analyzer" and "jaws" that ward had never had to fight with all of his skills...not to mention he is a slick black fighter (something kessler never faced...look out manny!)

For someone so critical of Mayweather's bending low and Hopkins's holding and clinching, I'm surprised you haven't been more critical of Ward.

One thing I do like about Ward holding is that he fights in the clinch. Not holding just to stall time and not get hit, but he roughs opponents up in the clinch. He may look thin and small-ish at 168, but he's outmuscled guys who look bigger, like Kessler and Miranda.

I assume it was much less entertaining watching it on TV, but being there at the fight (and slightly intoxicated), it was very exciting. Ward impressed me. I didn't think he'd win and expected that if he pulled it off, it'd at least be a competitive bout. Ward was too fast, gave too many angles, roughed Kessler up in the clinches with his free hand, avoided Kessler's shots with ease (or at least appeared to).

Xplosive I agree I had Dirrell winning as well. Should really be 2 out of 3.

However, wow, I haven't been this wrong in a long long time, I will gladly eat crow, pass some ketchup as well. Kessler is not as good as I thought he was, is it even set in stone he beats Froch now? I don't think so. The difference between the two of them is, when the going gets tough, Froch finds a way to win (no matter what you thought of the Dirrell decision), Kessler doesn't. He is a complete frontrunner.

I think in that fight styles play in favor of Kessler. They are the same type of fighters but Kessler is much the more compact and accurate. It seems that speed is what kills him, but unless this fight took something out of him, I still pick him to beat Froch, Taylor and Abraham. Dirrell might be difficult for him

I agree speed is what gets to him the most, but if they go to war and Froch starts getting through with regularity and success I can see Kessler getting disheartened.

Alot of fighters clinch unfortunately, but I think if it was made illegal like it should be, Ward's a fighter who doesn't particularly need it desperately in order to fight well, unlike Wlad and Hopkins whom if the clinch was taken away from them, they'd turn to jelly. As a prospect, I've been mainly concerntrating on his legal abilities, the same with Dirrell,.. but if a pattern consistantly emerges to the extent where you can tell they've TRAINED felonies into thier preparation and have come to rely on it,.. well then, that's as good as Fraud's backtwist, duck, elbow combination.

    1. Kessler WAS the clear favourite to win the tourney at almost any odds layer you care to name. What I said in that regard was FACT.

    2. Ward had done NADA to suggest he was capable of turning in that kind of performance. It was a breakout performance from a guy who has shown flashes of potential, but no more than that.

Neither of the things you highlighted were untrue in any way, shape or form...

Yeah if theres anybody who's pissed right now... its Sloppy Joe. Ward just shit all over his best win. Kessler was the only PRIME quality fighter Calz ever beat.

Now he just has wins over hype job Lacy, and the shells of Hopkins, and Jones.

lol the shell of Hopkins, when was his prime again?.. As his resume indicates,.. he was actually too GREEN for Jermaine Taylor... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA  ..Xplosive please, I told you and your half brother Illuminati not to grind Kessler's pink dick like Halle Berry and Vida Guerra respectively but you both wouldn't listen, now I get to grind Ward's dick like Heidi Klum, and laugh at you two fools inside the sellout bus.
