This was my immediate reaction as well. These guys punish each other when they fight. Why are we doing a 4th match I understand the 3rd fight could have been ruled a draw maybe, but it wasn't. Vasquez won the rubber match, why go for a 4th? These guys are going to kill each other
They are fighting for the 4th time because it will sell. Neither can make the money that they do fighting each other against anyone else near their weight.
Neither should fight anymore. Whatever money the are going to make cannopt replace the damage being done. It is a bad matchup as far as damage goes. Raffy has skills and a punch, but no brains. Issy has little skills and a great chin and heart. It is a beating for these guys. They are not built for this kind of punishment.
I don't think any fighter is built for that kind of punishment. I don't see their size being a factor in this one, moreso the styles and mentality of them both which you brought up. It's Castillo-Corrales/Ali-Frazier/Gatti-Ward again. (sort of) Yes Ali-Frazier 2 was boring, Castillo KO'd Corrales in the early rounds and Gatti-Ward was somewhat overrated. The point is these two similarly matchup for pure brutality against each other. After a few punches boxing is relegated to a reflexive type memory and guts are all that's left.
Size has something to do with it. Gatti is not even an average size man and he had some success after his battles with Ward. Guys like Vasquez attract attention like a hot chick.
