Like a MYSTICAL Figure, it Appears that Brother SLY is HEARD but Rarely SEEN...w/Each Day, More & MORE Posters Speak of Receiving "Messages" from the SLY ONE, REED Included...

So REED Figured it'd B Fun to Post the Messages he's Been Sending Out...

    Floyd At Welterweight

    DOUBLE L

Floyd beat Oscar De la Hoya at 154lbs...when Oscar was just getting off a crucifixion of Mayorga..proving he was still good (and YOU picked oscar to win that fight).

Floyd beat Zab Judah who was the UNDISPUTED Welterweight champion not to long prior to that (and don't gimme thsi shit that Zab Judah was a jnr welterweight because by that logic so too is Cotto)..and then beat Baldomir who was in fact the undisputed Welterweight champion.

    Just to remind you....

Baldomir beat Judah who beat Spinks who beat Mayorga who beat Forrest (twice) who beat Mosley (twice).

    Floyd beat THE Welterweight champion!

But in any event..even IF you want to disregard this..Floyd beat a CAPABLE Oscar at ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOUR POUNDS....higher than Welterweight (and YOU PICKED OSCAR TO WIN)..and so what the fuck are you complaining about? Floyd has proven himself...the burden of proof is on the others to fight HIM!!

    The Sly One has Spoken!!

Alright, I didn't want to post this, but here goes:

    David,
I've opened a rub and tug parlour in Spadina. Because of the recession, I've been given to long hours of practicing on myself. I need a Sugar Daddy.

    Regards,
    Sly

Hate him or hate him ... Sly was a nice forum element.

Where's Jake and Donnybrook? They may not have had the objetivity and wide range of topics of a Double L, Kauki, royyjonesjrp4pno1 or the fluidity and verbal mastery of qwertyhgfdsa603 but they were ok posters.

Here's my response to Sly's message:

    Sly One,

Don't embarrass yourself by refusing to see the situation for what it is. No matter how you try to paint it, the fact remains that PBF hasn't faced a single threat at 147.

Your bit about fighter "a" beating fighter "b", who beat fighter "c" is particularly ridiculous when you consider that Forrest destroyed Baldomir easily, while PBF nearly put the arena to sleep fending him off.

As for the victory over ODH, it was far from impressive and could've gone either way. If ODH had picked up his jab he would've won easily.

PBF is where he "is" not because he won a close and boring decision over the likes of ODH, Baldomir and Judah. He is where he "is" because he knocked out a featherweight named, JMM, a much smaller and very limited Hatton who'd only fought once before at 147, let alone had success, and a "I lost twice to Ivan Robinson" Gatti.

I consider it one of the great accomplishments of this board to have ridden it of such a useless poster.

If its possible for someone to be less objective than REED about slick black fighters, it was Sly. He, like Petre and CYC before him, contributed nothing of substance, and is now god-willing gone for good.

    amen.

A few things Sly fails to mention...

1). Zab needed two tries to beat Spinks

2). Zab damn near lost to Pineda before losing to Baldomir

3). Baldomir was brought in as an opponent...a stay busy fight for Zab

4). Floyd fought Zab when Zab was coming off a LOSS to Baldomir

5). The timeframe between The Mayorga and Mayweather fights was one year.

6). Prior to the Mayorga fight Oscar hadn't fought in 18 months

7). Points 1 -4 proves Manny's beatdown of Cotto trumps Floyd's "best" welterweight win

To Sly's credit he was practically the only guy who saw Mosely for what he was, way back in the SO days.

As it turns out, Mosley's a helluva lot better than Sly made him out to be (and admittedly than I thought he was).

That is about as possible as Fraud fighting without a good backtwist, duck, elbow-pot combination Dympeople, it simply has not, and will not, ever happen.

It's strange that Stafford chooses not to post anymore. He's one of my Facebook 'friends' and regularly pops up on my homepage to chew the fact when a big fight looms. He was particularly keen to point out how easy Manny would destroy Hatton...

He's not the only one, mind. A fair few of our 'former' members pop up on my homepage for a boxing chat. It's all good, of course, but it would be much better if people simply posted here...

What a hideous Floyd groupie Sly really is.

So stupid though, that he doesn't even appear to know much about Flid.

He pm'd Hut Hut that Floyd moved up from 126 to fight Castillo.

Floyd turned pro at 130 pounds, he's never been a featherweight.
