Beating Yuri would be a lot better for Pac's legacy than beating Floyd, right mikE?

It would enhance Roy's legacy and that's all that matters here.

Mayweather can only benefit from this.......Mayweather vs. Mosley will make a MILLION +....

if Pacquiao vs. Foreman is on PPV...i expect it to do SHIT numbers(by the standard of the last 3 Pac ppv's)..

The net gain for his legacy would be far greater for beating Floyd. Of course, he would lose out on the chance to say he won a world title at 154.

In your world, however, since Floyd beat Oscar at 154 and would be favored over any 154 lb guy, that beating Floyd at 147 means Pacquiao can claim a world title at yet another weight. Right?

You have misrepresented my position so I thought it was only fair that I return the favor.

Do I have to pull up the thread where you said Pacquiao fought MAB and Hatton at 126 and 140, respectively, rather than securing his legacy vs. someone with either a WBC, WBA, IBF or WBO title?

He chose money over legacy, your words.

Did you follow boxing in 2003 when Pac fought MAB?

Anyway that fight happens next, there is no way these two throw away a 30 million dollar payday for some shitty tune-up.

Very good. And I stand by that assertion when put into the context I put it into. You more right because looking back at the thread you did not make the claim that he should be called a world champion at those weights, instead I think you just didn't reply so my bad there. Do you think he should be considered a world champ at weight classes he didn't win a world title at?

To nitpick, I never said anything about "securing" legacy. In the end, I would concede his legacy is greater by beating Hatton and MAB than beating a less important world champion. However, his legacy is still hurt in that he did not win a world championship at those weights. And claiming that he did is bs.

    Cool.

To answer your question, yes, I do think Pacquiao was a world champ at 126 and 140.

Why? It's simple. MAB was in the midst of a very noble part of his career, where he was considered featherweight champion by any hardcore boxing fan, but refused to play by the rules of the corrupt sanctioning bodies. He vacated the paper titles he had because, well, he was the man at feather and didn't need a corupt body demanding sanctioning fees from his purses.

140 is even easier. Hatton beat Tszyu and didn't vacate his title when he moved to 147 on two seperate occasions for fights with Collazo and Floyd.

Hatton was the world champion at 140. To say Pac didn't win a "world title" from him is inherently stupid.

If this happened it would be because Arum stands to make more money when he promotes both guys in the fight. It will be in spite of the best interest of the fighters.

Still, if it means Mosley gets his shot at PBF, I'd be all for it. Especially knowing that Mosley would beat PBF, and that it'd be Mosley facing Pacquiao, not PBF.

    you got the wrong jew...

Pacquiao might fight Yuri at 154....to win a title at an 8th division..

a few weeks ago the rumor was that Mayweather wanted to fight Salita if he beat Khan.....just to steal more money...and take another tune up..

Salita must have worn a dress that day.

How about Anthony Peterson? How did Floyd fare with him?
