Floyd Mayweather Jr put on hold as Manny Pacquiao considers becoming eighth wonder.

“The Mayweather fight is the fight the world wants to see,†Roach said. “It’s going to be the biggest pay-per-view fight of all time. But I think we will fight one fight before that.â€

Roach said that Pacquiao’s schedule will be constructed around his political ambitions and the elections in the Philippines on May 10. “But there is a March date for him to fight,†Roach said. “People think I am crazy but I want him to win his eighth title against Yuri Foreman at 154lb. That’s my idea — then fight Mayweather in September. And then retire.â€

    Looks like Hopkins was right.

TRUE, Roach said it but I think it's a bargaining chip. Am I crazy but is 154 too HEAVY for Pacquaio...?

Also Pacman has been through the hoops with TOUGH matchups, what has Mayweather done in the last 2 years? Marquez at 147? CHILD please...

Let him get through MOSLEY to get to Pacquaio...

Funny because 2 of the 3 guys Pacquiao fought in what you refer as "being through the hoops with TOUGH matchups" were guys coming from losses to Floyd.

This is just Roach and Arum knowing Manny will be in deep shit against Floyd... There's no excuse not to make the fight happen.

Funny did Mayweather fight Hatton at 140? Funny did Floyd win by SPLIT decision, a guy Pacman stopped? Funny did Pacquaio ANIHILATE a guy who went 10 with Floyd at a higher weight?

Did Floyd EVER fight a REAL welterweight?

AGAIN Let him get through MOSLEY to get to Pacquaio...Floyd got a problem with that?

pac fought a weight drained Hoya, a post-floyd hatton, and a 145 lbs cotto. shit can be said from both sides of the same coin. Floyd is the man to beat for pacquiao, same goes for floyd.

No Wonder the Pac SAC SWINGERS have Been Soooooo QUIET Lately...If Floyd were Suggesting this we'd NEVER Hear the End Of it from his Critics, but it's O.K. for Pac to Put THE BIGGEST Fight in Boxing History on the BACKBURNER???...

I agree with you here REED, it's stupid for Manny to take such a fight. You'd be lying if you said that Floyd wouldn't do the same thing though. Hell, he was already hoping Salita beat Khan so they could fight. That is WAY worse than Yuri Foreman.

That was just a lame rumor. Here's Roach himself saying they want Foreman, not Mayweather next.

    I'm hoping it's a bargaining chip.

Especially considering Manny himself seemed pretty clear in saying he didn't want to go to 154, and he felt 147 was his limit.
