Something tells me this March date will not be a go.

First of all, it takes some time to hype a big time match-up to maximize the ppv.

Secondly, Manny caught a busted eardrum against Cotto. He should not even be sparring until early, to mid-February! I mean, when a guy gets cut he usually stays out for 100 day's (one % healing, per day).

Third of all, don't you all think this has come together a little too quickly, in terms of preliminary negotiations?

Finally, there are already talks about contengency fights, i.e., Matthew Hatton in England versus Floyd and Yuri Foreman for Pac; by the way, Pac could win an 8th weight class if he beats Foreman at 154.

Oh yeah, this Manny running for a congressional seat could be a distraction, especially with a May election.

There's a recession. There isn't too much CREDIT goin 'round these days!

Anyway, this busted eardrum deal will get some play soon enough. It took me about a week or 2 to recover from a 3 fight tourney (in 3 days), and those were 3 minute rounds back then!

After going nearly a full 12 rounds, and getting your eardrum busted, I don't think he should start serious sparring until late January or mid-February.

For those of us who know, at least from what I did on the amateur level, you get into cardio shape first and then fighting shape next.

It's a lot easier to fall out of shape, than to get in shape. I'd spar about 24-30 rounds in a month and a half for 3-3 minute rounds when I fought years ago. Now we have the 2 minute rounds. That's what I mean by fighting shape.

I'm sure Manny's going for 100 rounds or close to it. James Toney spars over 200 rounds because he does not do road work!

    Too right, Baron.

I was too scared to do it on my own, but I won't leave you out to dry for a second!

Bigdawg called this shit to a tee! March! Unbelievable! Seriously give it up for the Nostradamus of boxing!

I was paying attention and March wasn't even on anyone's brain until 'dawg shared the juice.

Only women have 2 minute rounds. Men are back to 3x3.

Yeah I've decided to start the credit thread myself. I mean, people are overlooking what Bigdawg did for fightbeat man. It was an injustice and I to correct it.

And what if it lands on the May date they are also talking about? How do we get our credit back from bigdawg? Will he issue refunds?

Fuck that once you give me credit you can't take it back. Besides I will only blame it on my source so ya'll can talk shit about my source. However, I did say that the fight was damn near a done deal so therefore if the fight is moved to May then I should atleast get partial credit. I'll Holla 5000

Good shit man. I did not know about the change. It must have been recent. I have a guy prepping for the Florida GG in March. We're going to begin working on Jan. 6th; we're gonna have 2 fights on consecutive weekends in Feb. (13th and 20th), an LBC GG match in early March, and then the Florida GG at the end of March. We're fighting novice. We should have about 5 or 6 bouts by then.

These are the same GG Winky Wright won after just 3 weeks of training!!! Novice of course.

I had to look it up because I knew it had happened, but not when. The international am boxing commission (AIBA) says on their website that it came into effect as of Jan 1, 2009. I didn't know that women were still at 2 min rds until I looked it up.

As far as USA am boxing, I'm not sure if golden gloves has made the switch back to 3x3 or not. It's not easy to find on their website or the usaboxing.org website. I watched the 2009 ny gg on tv but I dont remember if they were 4 or 3 rds.

    Good luck to your fighters.
