He basically fought one of the biggest collection of nobodies this side of, well, Chavez Jr :: He was MASSIVELY protected. The fight he drew he probably should have lost. He was KD twice in the first round of that one. MTF
Say what you like about Khan, but the guy has super quick hands. He has plenty of pop too when he turns his shots properly. If only the guy had a chin... MTF ::
It's not iron, but it's not as bad as people make out. However his defence has improved so much I don't think it matters now.
That sounds like wishful thinking......it wasn't so much the Prescott fight, but some of his previous bouts that has led to this common perception....vs Willie Limmond for example. He was very close to getting knocked out, and Limmond was feather-fisted as a super-featherweight. That was alarming. However, we haven't seen him take a decent shot at light-welter....it has been the case before with fighters, that stepping up in weight improves their punch resistance. Perhaps that could be the case with Amir. But all the evidence at the moment is in favour of the doubter's argument....it is pretty hard to argue with.
:: A bad chin ALWAYS matters. It's far less of an issue when you're fighting utter trash, but world class opponents WILL hit you and if you can't take it, you'll simply fall over. It's happened to Kahn before, against less thn world class opposition. It's only a matter of time till it happens again.
Manny was getting dropped back in the day as well, then he filled out and was able to take punches better.
I'm starting to wonder if Khan really does have a bad chin or that he was just weight drained before in his earlier fights from struggling to make the weight. Jury is still out on his chin but if he can keep a tight defense and with his own offense he will give most people trouble.
Bradley doesn't really hit that hard and most of his fights will now go 12 rounds, which makes him a bit boring.........lack of power also good news for Khan.
