Frank Mir creeps me out, always talking about injuring his opponents and finishing their careers, I hope Kongo can pull this out.
he's a pretty good fighter. there was another whiteboy with cornrows on the undercard, don't know if he won.
so much for my prediction:: I knew BJ was tons better, just thought Diego might catch him at the right moment in careers
1st round he knocked him down with a punch and looked like he will pound him out but Diego survived, BJ hurt him at the end of the round as well. Second round BJ just picked him off patiently with strikes, diego worked for a takedown at the end but did not get it.
Diego beats 80-90% of the lightweights in the world. that is pretty damn good. BJ Penn is just in a class of his own at LW.
So what. He wins on agression and conditioning, not skill. I'd pick Florian to beat him in a rematch.
diego working for the takedown which bj nonchalantly defends and lands his left hand at will when they are not clinched up.
it seems like penn rarely uses his BJJ unless he's against the cage defending. this is a boring fight. aside from Penn, all of the lightweights are pretty much the same.
Florian really has improved a lot. I can't believe he lost to Sanchez, but even more so to Sean "The Muscle Midget" Sherk. I think Kenny would bash the shit out of both of them now.
you said he wasn't any good. for a guy to be able to beat 90% of the world in the division he is in is very good. I'd pick Florian to beat him in a rematch as well, but it wouldn't be easy.
