like I said, at 155, no one is in Penn's class right now. He is just as dominant as GSP, Silva, or Fedor. If not more so.

Well Florian definately impressed. Guida is a hard guy to finish like that, and Florian made short work of him.

Mir destroyed Congo. The KD was nice, but Kongos problem was he didn't try to get up asap, and therefore was again a fish out of water on the ground. Nitey night!

BJ showed once again that he is the best 155er in the game. Diego is a very good, game fighter with tons of skill, its just that BJ is THAT good. Very impressive beatdown by BJ.

Ignoring knowledge and indulging in echolocation.
It's nice to see some dominant champions who have all evolved to raise the bar in MMA,.. Fedor, Silva, St Pierre, Penn,.. I think the sport can begin it's history now that the bar-room brawlers are well and truelly phased out.

penn's a fucking beast at 155. even at welterweight i think he beats a lot of the top guys not named GSP.

he probably has the best takedown defense along w/ machida.

not sure what more there is to do at 155 though. he seems to walk through most of his opponents just with his boxing skills alone. sanchez is a big ass dude at lightweight as well.

You can make the case for him being more dominant than GSP and Fedor at his weightclass, and he's about equal to Silva. Penn brutalizes every lightweight he faced, Pulver, Stevenson, Florian, Sherk, and now Sanchez. He'sl finished them emphatically. Penn's fights are quite the bloody affairs. Half of these guys looked like movie extras from a 80's B movie slasher flick by the time the fight was finished. I do like the fact that Penn tries to get you out of there. He has incredible finishing ability, and he's quite methodical. First comes the boxing and then when he has you in trouble he will dish out the knees and kicks to get you out of there, or if he drops you he'll just choke you out.

Great athlete, incredible reflexes, balance, hand-eye coordination, speed, agility, underrated strength and flexibility. Just a natural born fighter. Its no wonder he looks so relaxed in there.

So what's next for Penn? I don't know because there is nobody in the division that stands a chance against this guy. I used to wonder why Penn was so obsessed with beating GSP and tonight I understand why. Its because he wants a challenge, and nobody at lightweight in his league. I won't be surprised to see Penn weightjump again, its too bad because 155 is his best weight and he no matter what, GSP is also a supernatural talent that is just much bigger than him.

    Frankie Edgar
    Gray Maynard

And hopefully one day Eddie Alvarez

155 is loaded, there are plenty of great fights for Penn.

"Great Fights" Indicates that ANY of these Guys would have a Realistic Chance @ Beating BJ Penn @ 155...REED just CAN'T See it...Already, in a Yahoo Post-Fight Article, BJ's Camp is Talking about the Maynard Fight, THEN Facing the # 1 Contender @ 170 in Hopes for a 3rd Fight w/GSP...

I can definitely see Alvarez beating Penn, unfortunately, he's wasting his time in Japan and fighting for fringe groups like Bellator.

Great fights? Griffin couldn't even beat Clay Guida (although he got the decision).

They need to force Anderson, GSP, and Penn to each move up a division to spice it up.

So you think the UFC should 'force' fighters to move up in weight?

Would the term "encourage" work better for you?:shit::shit::shit:

You totally missed the point about the divisions being much more competitive if that happened, but I'm not surprised because you are a moron.

Silva is fighting at 205 because he wants to fight at 205, not because the UFC is forcing him to. The idea of him fighting at 205 was his, not Dana White's.

I caught your point, but the idea of the UFC 'forcing' anyone to move up a division is asinine. For you to make that statement, then call anyone a moron is laughable.

The UFC is in the Business of Putting on GOOD Fights...Currently, they're @ the Point where just about NOBODY Expects their Lightweight, Welterweight OR Middleweight Champions to LOSE in their Divisions..."Suggesting" they Move Up is GOOD for Business...

If/When the Perception (OR REALITY) is Out There that a Division is STAGNANT, w/NO Challenge for the "King of the Hill", that's BAD for Business....

I have no problem with the UFC offering a fighter a fight at a different division. But forcing anyone to change divisions is ridiculous.

The difference between offering a fight at a different weight, and forcing a fighter to fight at a different weight is hardly semantics.
