    Nah, I am not saying that at all....just that once Roy slowed down enough to be hit nice and clean, his lack of resistance was exposed. I am sure Ruiz hit Roy, but I doubt he nailed him perfectly like that. If you look at the Tarver, Johnson and Green KO's, they are all cracking single power-shots smack dab on the money, be it temple, chin or ear.

    Calzaghe, on the other hand, not being that sort of fighter, scuffed away all night and did hurt Jones.........eventually.

    Ruiz Nailed Roy CLEAN on 2 Occasions in the 1st Round ALONE...SECONDS Into the Bout, he Forced Roy Against the Ropes & Landed a FLUSH Hook on the Chin...Later in the 1st, he Hit Roy Solid HIGH to the Head, which Rocked Roy Back on his Heels...But Roy Bolo'ed & Waded Back INTO Ruiz...

    REED Ain't Saying Roy was EVER Jake LaMotta, but he COULD Take a Punch 1nce Upon a Time...

    That, believe or not, is more or less what I am saying.......I think Roys own father once said words to that effect, vis a vis the wisdom of matching him with bigger men {"be like putting a volkswagen up against a big Mack truck, just too much mass"}

    You will note I alluded to Roy's being KO'd for the first time playing as much a role as his being KO'd subsequently as any other factor.

    I guess, what I am saying, is....taking punches was never going to be Roy's thing, so to speak.

    GL: Did you view the fight on tape, if so what are your thoughts on the stoppage?

    RJJ: "Well, they stopped it too quick. When the referee stopped it I said, 'whatcha doing? If you was gonna stop it, stop it when I went down, don't stop it now?' I know he was getting tired and I knew from the fight in Biloxi, MS that he wasn't a great finisher because he hurt a dude down there and couldn't put him away. I said I got him now, he's wasting all of this energy and he can't finish me. He only landed two shots after I got up, uppercuts and they didn't bother me at all, I figured he was getting ready to wear himself out and this fight wasn't going to last as long as I thought it was. Then the ref stopped the fight, I know it was a premature stoppage, but you're in the country where they're going to do what they want to do and there's not much you can do about it. Now I know what they can do, I know the tactics they use, I know you can use a cast, so next time I'll just have me a cast on and we'll be ready to go.

    :laughing::laughing:

    Wow, that's fucking priceless.

    Is Roy becoming the most delusional man in boxing history?

    Roy is officially a CAST-OFF.

    Green nailed him with body shot galore, and Roy staggered at least once after he got up.

    Roy is shot. And delusional. Part of his delusion as a shot fighter stems from the delusion he endured in his prime. He never addressed delusion in his prime and it has followed on into his shot years, like a bad cut that turns gangrenous over time.

    Roy, in the buildup to the Calzaghe fight gave an interview from his camp in California, PA.

    Roy said that he was a "razzle dazzle kind of guy who did what he wanted in the ring".

    He didn't do what he wanted vs Tarver. He didn't do what he wanted vs Griffin {Part Uno}, well he did, but he got DQ'd and he never did what he wanted vs Dariusz cos he never fought him {whoever was to blame}. Eric Harding made him work, before he tore a biceps.

    Roy thinks he had it all too easy in his prime. He did...but only sporadically, in parts, in certain fights. If he could only realise that it would give him perspective, then he might find it easier to accept inferiority in these later, shot, years.

    Evander Holyfield? :lol:

    Reed I have to say I didn't expect Roy to fall so low. All that time talking about how he didn't want to get hurt, boxing was just a bussiness plus he always stuck out to me as a smart fella, unlike say Chavez. Back then I would've bet that Roy would be one of the few to go out graciously.

    Roy needs to go back to go forward. He always called himself a business man,- today, he is selling himself short.

    The thing is, unlike Holyfield, Roy seems pretty compos mentis upstairs - as evidenced by his commentary ability etc. He's clearly not a retard or punch drunk, so it surprises me he is as delusional as Holyfield.

    "I'm not going to complain, he won and he did what he had to do and I understand that, now next time when I go back, I'm going to be putting a cast on too, because I know they'll let me fight with it. It's part of the game it happens, next time we'll just go cast for cast."

    :lol: I dont know if you can appreciate it, but that whole interview is some funny shit.

    Hell yeah most of that interview with <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Roy</st1:place></st1:City> is a joke. Jones was pretty much done after the knock down and didn't fire anything back and those shots were getting in too. So I don't blame the ref for stopping the fight at all, he gave <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Roy</st1:place></st1:City> plenty of time to do something and he didn't do a damn thing. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Roy</st1:place></st1:City> had his hand low and didn't even see the punch coming, lol. Props to Danny Green because he called it by saying he got the punch that will "knock <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Roy</st1:place></st1:City> out for a week". Green and his team probably watched the Glenn Johnson fight to see where Jones weak spot on the side of the head is. Every time he gets hit there down he goes crashing like a tree. <o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    It's definitely a wrap for <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Roy</st1:City></st1:place>; if you can't take a shot to the head you pretty much done. Being a long time fan I was holding on to hope see <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Roy</st1:place></st1:City> at least retire semi on top but that won't happen now. Get your HBO commentary job back or become a trainer because I think he knows the game inside and out and can contribute a lot to the sport to some of the young guys coming up. <o:p></o:p>
