The BEST 1 of All... Zab Judah was the 2nd Coming of Pernell Whittaker, Only w/POWER!!!!... REED:hammert:
Yeah, I remember that now.....Judah had no defense like Whittaker and in fact Whittaker was grossly underrated as a puncher to begin with.......a very poor 2nd coming, to be sure. After Peter lost narrowly to Wlad, a British boxing commentator pondered if Peter could be the 2nd coming of Ray Mercer. Another FAIL.
Wasn't David Tua supposed to be the 2nd coming of.................David Tua..........at least half a dozen times. Petre loved that guy back in the day. If only he trained...................and stopped eating doughnuts....................and wasn't so lazy......................and threw more punches...............and didn't lead with his head instead of his fists.........................and wasn't Samoan....................and listened to his trainers...................and didn't have such big bones.....................and grew a 3rd fist out of his forehead.....................and didn't have a dad who was such an asshole......................and wasn't touched in bad places by his scoutmaster............... He would have been GOAT!!!!! I still occasionally hear rumblings of a comeback. He pledges he's gonna take it seriously this time. ::
Mel Taylor was no Leonard, but he was still something special until Chavez ended his prime. Judah obviously hyped to be the next Sweet Pea, only with power.... not even close. Tua was supposed to be the 2nd coming of Tyson.... we see how that turned out.
Thats such an insult to Tua. The 96-97 Tua actually had TALENT. Arreola has nothing remotely close to talent.
Bojado to me looked like the 2nd coming of Vargas, only with more speed n power. Too bad he was such a lazy fatass.
Michael Grant = Lennox Lewis Tony Ayala = Roberto Duran Howard Davis Jr = Better version of SRL Watching Tony Ayala and Howard Davis at one time in their careers I thought there was no way either would be a miss. Especially Howard Davis Jr, he was on the way to a title with many defenses and was going to be considered an ATG when finished.
Interestingly, Ayala and his people always said that Duran was the fight they wanted, and it was scuppered by Duran losing to Laing. Ayala was touted as something of a Duran-Esque figure, thanks to his Spadafora-esque sparring session with Cuevas, where he allegedly beat up Cuevas. Spadafora shot a woman in the guts, Ayala raped women, they both did a lot of time in the can and had failed comebacks and both lived off alleged sparring victories- who would have thought it..... PAUL SPADAFORA IS THE 2ND COMING OF TONY AYALA JR.
Prime Byrd would have made Arreola look completely stupid. The word "try" is very subjective. If by "try" you are saying that Arreola took a beating for a payday even though he didn't feel like training or eating properly leading up to the fight..............then I agree.
Ayala would have been exposed by Hagler, Duran, Leonard, Hearns Benitez and the other elite fighters of his time, no different to Spaddy. In reality, Tony is parlaying one sparring session and a lot of lost "potential" into some sort of a case for Canastota.....
I'm actually out there looking for the second comings of Henry "the octopus" Akinwandi and Jimmy Thunder i'd like to be the second coming of Joe Hipp
Amir Khan was supposed to be the 2nd coming of Hamed despite the differences being: Khan began at Lightweight, Hamed at.....below featherweight, anyways. Khan is 5'10", Hamed was 5'3".... Khan is of Pakistani origin, Hamed is of Yemeni Khan is Orthodox, Hamed SP/SH Khan Khan't Fight, Hamed Can. I think their only similarities were their propensity to propel vehicles into people at speed.
