i'm not even sure if soto can beat katsidis. his only chance would be winning on cuts. otherwise, he would get pushed around and beaten up.

 

this is the first time i've seen soto fight going backwards. he's obviously fighting out of his comfort zone, but is still landing enough counter shots mostly because chavez is flat out awful.

one thing's clear, soto's power is not there at 135. chavez has shown to have a good chin, but the guy is shot. soto pretty much landed every punch in the book, but chavez has taken them well as the fight progressed.

Chavez is tough, but he is borderline shot yes, Soto should be able to take him out.

ceremo is fast and lanky. the bantamweight division has gotten pretty deep. hasegawa, perez, agbeko, and that tall panamanian are all good fighters. plus there are guys like mijares, montiel, and sidorenko in the mix.

 

they both traded knockdowns early, but montiel got dropped hard in the third and suffered a cut caused by a punch. at the time of the stoppage, it was ruled a technical draw, but the replay clearly showed that the cut was caused by a punch from valdez.

he's improved since he dethroned sahaprom. he's been knocking everyone out lately. granted, the guys he's beaten lately aren't big names, but i figured guys like nestor rocha (whose fights have been televised in the U.S) and Bungu (he knocked the shit outta sahaprom in his comeback attempt) would've provided some stern challenge. hasegawa stopped both in 1 and also beat Valez (the guy fighting right now) in 2 rounds.
