This has probably been done before, but fuck it, I don't care. The only fight out of the little three Mexican superstars which never happened, who wins?

I like Marquez by decision. Although Morales could box, he preferred to brawl. There would be some action no doubt but i don't see Erik getting Marquez to fight his style.

Do you see it as close or fairly comfortable for JMM whiskey?

    Close but clear.

Some "controversy" wouldn't be out of the question similar to JMM-Barrera. A few thought Barrera won, but the vast majority of people who watched the fight knew Marquez rightly deserved the decision.

Prime Morales at 122, I would pick El Terrible.

I think people are underrating Erik a bit these days, due to the shop worn Morales we've seen in recent years. Prime Erik was fucking good. He could box, he could punch, he had balls the size of watermelons, and he was tough as fuck.

He's also the only person to have a clear victory over Manny since Manny moved up the weights.

I think Marquez would be a bit too patient for Morales. Morales could box too, is rangier than Marquez, but would just fucking bring it.

I would pick Erik, close but clear.

Marquez would school Morales. Marquez is the best fighter of the big(little) Mexican 3.
    Marquez
    Morales

    Barrera.

Barrera is at worst, dead even with Morales... he beat him twice and he beat Hamed, which is a huge win that I honestly am not entirely sure would have been one if it were Morales/Hamed

Nonsense. Hamed was not a great fighter and either Marquez or Morales would have beaten as well, if not worse than Barrera. Barrera is only mentioned with Morales because he beat him twice. Other than that, Morales had a vastly superior career. Barrera went through a huge stretch where he fought nobody.

Actually MAB beat Morales all 3 times. Just because he got robbed in the first fight doesn't mean shit. So to say MAB and Moralles are at least tied is a fallacy. MAB was flat out better and because nearly everyone on all boxing boards love Morales to death they always have to hate on MAB.

And yes JMM would have schooled Morales who goes on the short list of guys who had great skills but preferred guts and glory brawling over intelligent fighting like Corrales and Paul Williams.

I thought MAB won the series with Erik 2-1 but the first two fights went to the wrong guy

I think you're thinking of the 1st and 3rd fights went to the wrong guy as everyone prettty much unanimously agreed that MAB won the 2nd and many far sighted people feel Morales was robbed in the 3rd. The reality though is only MAB was ever robbed in the trilogy. The 3rd fight was close but MAB still won and has proven to be better than Morales in every way by besting him in a brawling match and a boxing match. By my eyes MAB won all 3 fights.

You got it all wrong. The third one was a clear MAB victory, the second one was should have been a clear Morales win.

Okay then the 2nd one was the one everyone mistakenly thought Morales won because many people misjudged the fight and the 3rd was the one MAB clearly won.

lb you're getting confused. Only a Morales hater would think Erik lost the second fight.

I thought Erik won the first two fights, and is an overall better fighter than Barrera, with better results against common opposition too.

The first decision was considerably worse than the second.

OMFG! I finally found something we disagree on. First of all nobody felt Morales won the first fight (except maybe for 3 blind judges) so I don't know where you got that from. However when it came to the 2nd fight it was close but I felt MAB won it with his boxing. I'm not going to argue it to death though. It was just too long ago and I'll leave everyone to their opinions.

It's a very difficult match for both men. I would have to favour Morales, though reluctantly. He was just superb at so many things, & I think what someone said earlier --- about Marquez being a hair too patient --- might hurt him with the judges. Great scrap, but I think Marquez winds up getting drawn into Morales' fight, moreso than vice-versa. At Lightweight, it would be a different story, but, as Feather, my head says Morales narrowly, though I'd be cheering for Marquez.

I think Marquez would always have a slight edge over any Barrera, though.
