Pretty much. Floyd wants blood taken out of Pacquiao up to the day of the fight. He's pretty much trying to be the gayer version of Blackula.

The anti-doping agency and Richard Shafer both agreed to not have Pacquiao's blood taken the day before or the day of. Please note that Pacquiao's counter-proposal involves two things: NO TESTING within THIRTY DAYS of the fight, no RANDOM testing period.

It's never been conclusively proven that blood is a more effective testing medium than urine.

Pacquiao has agreed to RANDOM urine testing which is unprecedented in the sport of boxing.

As far as I know it's HGH that can be picked up in blood but not urine, but I haven't heard of anything else that can't be picked up in urine.

According to some people, using masking agents etc can still defeat random testing.

And that's changing, there are already test that can detect HGH in urine, it's just that the commissions aren't doing them yet.

EPO - which is by far the most likely drug for a boxer to be taking

EPO can be detected in urine

If Pacquiao was taking EPO, why would he agree to random urine tests?

As far as I'm familiar, being a cycling fan, blood testing has the relative advantage against urine of detecting EPO-related markers (young red blood cell count etc.) versus simply EPO itself, which is particularly valuable where you have new EPO varinats which are not detectable in the urine sample

OK Im gonna stop pretending I know shit about this. But as far as Im aware apart from EPO the other major one of use to a boxer is blood doping, which is almost certainly not detectable by urine. But the bottom line is it doesn't matter whether WE or even Floyd knows shit about what Pac might be on or how to detect it or not. It still comes down to Pac backing out of a mega-super-duper-ultra fight because he doesn't want to take random blood tests. Still.

Man, I just finished reading that whole article and realized that now Arum is speculating over whether they can take a blood test up until 14 days before the fight. Wow, wow, wow. Next someone in that camp is gonna blurt out, "No, we refuse to take the test within the last week because we're going to test positive!"

Yeah, they're better off,.. taking a properghanda "time-out" ..maybe Arum can go directly to the producer in the Phillipines to be educated more on this particular stuff,..and work out a better prepared plan of attack,.. he'll have to bring his precious little money-maker along and probably make a camp out of it, testing the minimum clearance trial before he comes back to the media again with the correct time, "Ready, I'm ready..it's ..... 13 days, 7 hours and 56 minutes, that's our last offer".. as particular as he likes, and he may aswell fucken blurt that out in it's precise form, as it couldn't do his situation any more harm.

Yep, all he has to do is jump through whatever hoop Mayweather tells him to. Since fighters have no pride, he's likely to do that, right?
