It doesn't work that way. You're either with Pacquiao or against him.

Yeah I get it, Canada its the CBC and I've heard Iran has a smashing state news outlet too!

If you're trying to make the argument that only state run media outlets are trustworthy and integral to a free society then fuck you and everything you stand for.

The proof is in the pudding. I'm certain the truth will eventually come out and when it does I won't be surprised because the writing is on the wall. Public opinion and character evaluations are not based on proof from a court of law but are based on a more dictatorial form of jurisprudence quick to judge and convict unless staunch measures are used to change the tide of opinion...like for instance - taking a blood test!

Well that's why I ignore most of the guy's pleading for Pac and concentrate on the smart posters who've gone to the dark side. I expect nuthuggers to hug nuts thats what they do, but when a guy like you does it I have to challenge

You do know that the BBC is an independent media organisation which is paid for by the UK population and is completely outside the Government, don't you? That it has a 'Charter' which forbids it from siding with any political party of any kind and, on the rare occassions that it breaches this impartiality, it has been taken to court (as happened in 2004), don't you?

Because if you don't know this, then your last post might make you look very stupid indeed...

That's where you're wrong. Rather, for you, it boils down to the following:

    1. REED interprets Manny's refusal to allow random drug testing as an indication that he doesn't trust his ability to pass such tests
    2. REED interprets Manny's refusal to allow random drug testing as proof that he takes PEDs. Furthermore, REED interprets Pacquiao's use of PEDs as a lack of faith in his ability to perform without them.

Pretty much. REED is dumb, and I think should be mocked for being so dumb.

In the case of PBS, their coverage is as subject to bias as anyone else's. Like any publication, they have an audience they have to appeal to if they plan on paying the bills. This dictates what they cover, and how.

But I wouldn't underestimate the ability of the free market to exploit the financial opportunities of providing the sort of coverage of events and stories that appeals to those disillusioned with main stream papers and broadcasts.

Tim Smith is under no obligation to reveal his "source" unless it goes to a court case. Even then he could refuse and be thrown in jail for contempt of court.

With that said, with libel laws he has to have what he (and his editor) deems credible evidence before going to print with a story.

    "however"

The source could be full of shit...we saw how well that worked out for Dan Rather when he reported the George Bush National Guard story.

I'm not pointing you out, I'm pointing Manny out, since you state that he thinks that testing should be left to the commission, then catchweights should, too. He just wants to control whatever is convenient to him. This is all Manny's fault. I mean, since when has Floyd being difficult in negotiations?? Manny has been difficult to deal with since he came up in weight. His negotiations with oscar and cotto were not easy. Floyd just cares about the money, and now that he asks for something else, that is of much concern to everybody, he's a bitch? Manny is a diva, plain and simple.

Mayweather's next in line is Matthew Hatton?

Mayweather is a joke. I can't wait until he's broke and has to face a real opponent and gets KTFO.

whatever works. i don't think i'm alone in my desire to see PBF take a beating. i might have to wait five years. but it'll be worth it.

something Arum said makes me wonder - can PBF read? it's actually difficult to imagine his reading.

yeah. i'm gonna pay money to watch that. watch a guy who managed to have a boring fight with JMM face off against a club fighter?

i hope it does happen and it's a total bust, and by year's end, PBF is begging Pacquiao to fight him, just so he can get away with not facing Mosley.

Again dude, I don't disagree with most of what you say. But that doesn't automatically mean that Manny is hiding his PED usage. He could, once again, be just acting like a bit of a dick...

Which is the point I've been trying to make...all friggin day

Why not name the source? Really?

Protecting your sources is the cardinal rule of professional journalism.

Anonymity is also the method by which many professional journalists hide and resort to a more creative licence...

Sure. But you can't ask him to name a source. That goes against everything a good journalist is supposed to do. If someone gave him that info and asked not to be named his hands were tied.

And that's totally fair. As a reader, question him all you want. Stop reading him if you think he's a hack, that's all fair game.
