Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr have been ordered to submit to urine tests within 48 hours by the Nevada State Athletic commission.

The pair were due to meet in Las Vegas on 13 March but negotiations for the fight stalled last week because of a row over blood testing.

The two boxers must submit to the tests or face possible fines or suspension by the Nevada regulator.

The pair are feuding over random drug testing in the run-up to the fight.

Pacquiao's camp is against random tests in the 30 days prior to the fight, the Filipino claiming losing blood weakens him, while Mayweather's team is insistent upon them.

The Nevada Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer is hoping the urine test demand might help end the impasse between the two sides.

"We're always hopeful that when we do drug testing it comes back negative," said Kizer said.

"I don't know if this will help the chances of the fight happening. But with all this talk of drug tests, let's actually do one."

It's a PRE-PLANNED URINE Test...How Do U EXPECT it to Work Out???...REED's Smoked about a POUND of Marijuana Over the Christmas Holiday yet GUARANfuckingTEES he Could Pass ANY Urinalysis on 48 Hours Notice....

for hash? no you couldn't! Plus I dunno if 2 days counts as 'pre planned', thast pretty short notice if PAc is doping

it's randomly being demanded for 2 days time. It's not totally random, but two days is not much leeway at all as i said. I'd imagine the vast MAJORITY of possible PEDS PAc could be taken will show up on a test like that.

This is good news. Now we might get to see some sort of results.

And what the fuck is a "Head" shop??

The nevada commission could probably end all the arguments here and just announce a testing procedure which is acceptable to Floyd. It's unlikely Team-pac would move the fight location because an official body changed its doping procedures.

48 hours notice? You couldn´t make this shit up.

Maybe it´s random urine, doesn´t have to be their own?

    What a joke.

"Random" Testing is COMPLETELY UNANNOUNCED...There's NO Warnings or Alerts Given in ADVANCE, which is Taking Place Here...

For Example, Lance Armstrong has Guys Knocking on his Hotel Room Door @ 5am (& Various OTHER Times of a Given Day) DEMANDING Blood & Urine Samples...They MIGHT Come Back the Following Day OR it Could B a MONTH B 4 he Sees them Again...He's TOTALLY 100% UNAWARE of when he'll B Tested...

    THAT's "Random"...

Maybe a PR move by the NSAC, to make themselves look better since their drug test policies have been (justifiably) questioned.

I kind of wonder if they'll just cover it up if one guy turns up dirty.

I'd say they'd be up front about it to prove they don't have to change their policies. Seeing as the fight appears to be off at this stage, what do they have to lose?

Wasn't Pacquiao perfectly fine with random piss tests, but was terrified his 'stuff' would be caught out by random blood tests?.. and why the fuck test him now?.. When they're signed to fight I'd figure the weeks leading up to the fight is when Pacquiao would begin injecting the shit, I dont know much about performance enhancers but why would he be taking them on is holidays?..

Surely you jest? That can't be true, as that truly is disruptive, and borderline harrassment.

Athletes can be tested 365 days a year from 7 a.m. in the morning till midnight. They have to specify one hour of each day for a period of three months in advance, where they can be found to be tested. Generally known as the whereabouts rule. If you miss three tests within an 18 months period you can be banned without a positive test. The most famous case is probably Michael Rasmussen, who was on the verge of winning the TdF, when he was pulled from the race. In the end Alberto Contador, who is linked to Fuentes, won the Tour. In other words they killed Hitler and made Bin Laden the new boss.

Rasmussen was the center of controversy while wearing the yellow jersey in the 2007 Tour de France, when it was announced that he had been suspended from the Danish national cycling team at UCI World Championships and Olympic Games following missed doping controls.[9] Rasmussen failed to report his whereabouts for a three-week training session in Mexico and was unavailable for testing during that period; for that he received a recorded warning from the UCI.[10] Counting these missed tests together, the Danish cycling union decided to ban Rasmussen. Rasmussen said: "I do admit that I've committed an administrative error. I was informed of this at the Danish championship two and a half weeks ago, so it's no news... It might be a surprise that it comes out right now."[11]
On 25 July 2007, the day Rasmussen won stage 16 and virtually ensured his overall win of the 2007 Tour de France, he was fired from Rabobank and removed from the race.[1] Previously, an Italian cycling commentator for RAI and former professional road bicycle racer, Davide Cassani, telling a story about Rasmussen's intense preparations for the Tour,[17] stated he had seen Rasmussen in the Italian Dolomites on 13 June 2007, cycling in the rain. According to the schedule Rasmussen submitted to the UCI, he should have been in Mexico at that time.

Although there had been rumours and accusations against Rasmussen this ultimately led to a two year ban that was upheld at the CAS, the highest court in sports.

The CAS was also recently involved in boxing, when the WBC more or less promised Maskaev a mandatory shot at Vitali Klitschko, if Maskaev dumped his lawsuit agianst the WBC, but Vitali said: "Fuck that, the washed-up has been ain´t getting no title shot just like that" and the CAS agreed. So the WBC, smart as they are, put Maskaev into an eliminator against some Mexican clubfighter, who laid Maskaev out in a minute.

I know. But Lance doesn't have the balls to stand up to them.

That's not the point. If it is a required test to compete in the event then he must abide. If NSAC and/or boxing in general decides Olympic testing is the way to go then I'd expect everyone to abide by it.

No matter what time testers turned up in the morning.

Maybe im confused, but how does the NSAC have an authority right now? These men arent going to fight anytime soon. What if they wanted to build muscle amd took Peds on their off time? Thats illegal?

The problem is ignorance on my part regarding this move by the Nevada commission. Surely it's better than nothing, but the whole point of urine vs blood is that blood is better. And I don't know what can be done in 48 hrs to make a urine test come back clean.

To answer Godfather, yes, PED's are illegal. I'll let someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's why you can't go out and buy this shit otc. I think there are some OTC things you can buy that have illegal PED's in them...but as I remember...this is because the supplement industry isn't regulated as well as it should be. And I'm going a few years back with my understanding and things may have changed by now. It's also why everyone in sports is put on notice that they are responsible for what goes into their body...no exceptions...no blaming the trainer...no blaming accidental ingestion because it was purchased otc.

The fact is, if blood tests had been required right now, I would be FAR more impressed if Pacquiao passed. My guess is that Pacquiao would have tested positive when he refused Floyd's demand and he wouldn't agree to provide samples until the fight was 'officially announced' in order to give him time to clean out his system.

Oh, and just to get this out ahead of time...if Floyd or Pacquiao tests positive for marijuana, I don't care one bit. I wouldn't even test for that at anytime for sports since no one has ever maintained it helps performance. I'm just getting this out there in case Floyd tests positive for pot and some dipshit tries to make a big deal out of it.
