Makes me laugh every time. Codrington is one of the most unintelligent fighters ever. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KXh5GfdYid4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KXh5GfdYid4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Did you ever lift a 10lb dumbell immediately after lifting a 50lb one? Well if you have, then you will appreciate how letting Jaidon Codrington speak first makes Allen Green sound like a rocket scientist by comparison. Codrington seems to be one of those guys who exists for the sole purpose of making other people look good. He is the plankton of the boxing world.
He DOES have Talent...He just Lacks CONSISTENCY...When Green Opens Up Like THAT, there ISN'T a Supermiddle in the World that Can Withstand It.... REED:hammert:
His wife can keep oralisin' n' swivellin' all them bits round though, she made Bikky's sweets look like a trogladyte ogre, and I never assumed it plausible.
I agree Green has talent, he definitely has flaws though. Not sure he's the toughest guy out there and his chin is questionable. I mean, he lost to Miranda. Who got thrashed by Pavlik and Abraham.
Green Also MOVED DOWN to Fight Miranda...UNLIKE Pavlik & Abraham...& he DID Show Some VULNERABILITIES in Miranda, During that Fight... REED:hammert:
I still remember watching this when it aired on Showtime. I just remember thinking what a jackass Codrington seemed like in the prefight interview. I was already a fan of Green. I got to see him fight at a show in Houston when I was visiting my sister. The absolute best part of this whole fight was laughing at Codrington's entourage after the KO. CLASSIC!::
You could say Miranda moved up for that fight too, since it was a catchweight of 162. :: You have a point though Green is the bigger guy, much easier to come up a couple pounds than for the bigger guy to drop 6 or so. Green has after all fought as high as LHW.
REED Is VERY Realistic when it Comes to Green...He was Nearly KO'ed by Donny McCrary AND Miranda...His Chin is OBVIOUSLY SUSPECT & he's Been VERY Disappointing Against the Likes of Tarvis Simms & Others... But REED Doesn't Get how Soooooooooo MANY Can Just Write him Off Sooooooo EASILY...The Codrington KO is 1 of THE MOST Brutal U'll EVER See...& it's NOT like Codrington is a CAN or Anything...Shit, he Inflicted MORE Hurt on Bika than Calzaghe Did.... Like REED Said, if Green Opens Up Like THAT, NO Supermiddle is Gonna Withstand It... REED:nono:
Losing to Miranda though. Miranda seems like the quintessential gatekeeper type, or barometer for the elite. If you can't beat Miranda, it's pretty unlikely you're beating any of the guys in the tournament.
</P> I wonder if that's from the same guy who made the Fedor\Arlovski one a year ago? <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/AERoQrcrRsE&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/AERoQrcrRsE&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> TFK
Miranda Still had Some Semblance of an AURA when Green Beat him Though...After Pavlik, it was All DOWNHILL for Miranda...If Green had Lost to Miranda @ 168, AFTER the Pavlik Fight, REED would B Ready to Write him Off too... REED:hammert:
The Pacquiao v Hatton one that was done with the SF theme was better than both. All made me laugh though. I wish we had one for Green getting smacked around by the midwestern jobber on ESPN.
He´s consistent. Lost to the only top ten fighter he ever fought, beats everybody else. Pretty consistent. :kick:
Sure, but it was that exact Miranda that Pavilk slapped about and stopped in 6 rounds. Miranda had no chance against Pavlik. Pavlik made him look like the level of fighter that he is. It's not like Miranda is a really tricky fighter either, like a spoiler etc that's hard to beat, he's right there, he's not hard to hit. By the way, I'm surprised Green doesn't have a higher KO percentage. Is Green generally not that aggressive?
It IS Surprising, Mex...Green is a TRUE Bomber...He Actually BROKE Mike Tyson's Looooooooooog Standing National Golden Gloves Record for QUICKEST KO...Mike's was like 18 Seconds or So...Green Got Rid of a Guy in like 8 Seconds...REED DOUBTS if there's 10 Better PURE PUNCHERS N the World than Green, Lb for Lb.... Green is 1 of the More UNfocused Fighters REED has Seen on a World Class Level (Which his Habit of Looking DOWN @ his Feet Validates)...N his Most Recent Fight, KNOWING he NEEDED a "Statement" Fight, Green Allowed the FAT, UNDERSIZED Tarvis Simms to Trouble him & Last the Distance...Not 1nce did he EVER Show the URGENCY or Desire to Dish Out HURT as he Did Against Codrington... Codrington (& Curtis Stevens) SHITTALKED Green Quite a Bit Leading Up to the Bout, so he was AMPED.... The Weirdest Thing about Green is that he SPARS the Way he Fought Against Codrington...REED Saw him Spar about 15-20 Rounds or So & Green was an ASSHOLE While in the Ring (Which REED Looooooooves)...He'd HURT Guys, Hold them Up, them Pat them On the Ass & Send them Back to their Corners... REED:hammert:
:: Yeah that makes sense. He can obviously BE highly aggressive, and there's no doubt he has power, so guess yeah, it must be a lack of focus and "umph" in the ring.
I don't think Green is that hard of a puncher based on watching many of his fights. Green was sick against Miranda. The fight probably doesn't mean much.
