A true boxing fan will never be really done. You arent done. you just think you are. I follow MMA more than boxing right now, but that doesnt mean i watch as much boxing as i can. I just dont get emotionally invested anymore.

I hate boxing. My interest is very low. I really don't care about it at all anymore. I always knew this day would come. I remember when I first on posted message boards there were rarely people who followed the sport for a long time. I see why. "Boxing is the best sport." What a bunch of shit. Fights mightbe the best sporting event, but boxing itself blows and always will.
The 1st step would be to stop posting double. For 25 years. If you don't miss posting it means you are over it. If you do miss it, you can always come back after that time.
If guys are so fucking done with boxing why post on a boxing website every fucking day. Couple things either you don't have lives outside of the internet or you are fans of boxing. Can't have it both ways. So if you are done with the sport the find something else to talk about. I'll Holla 5000
Ike kind of has a point. When I think about it I don't go out of my way to watch boxing the way I used to. I've missed so many big fights and don't give a shit. FNF's comes on and I don't even give a shit. Some of the fighters discussed around here I sometimes can't even comment on because I haven't seen them fight. Personally I think the promoters and sanctioning bodies have destroyed our interests with their business dealings. The multiple belts per division has completely removed the luster from being a champion or belt holder. Fighters don't even fight for belts hardly anymore the way they used too.
Boxing will always be my favorite and will always follow it. However, I don't seem to watch all the fights that I used to. Boxing definately needs a kick in the ass. It just seems that all of the politics and business are taking away from the sport.
I do not watch other sport event, but boxing. I grew up with boxing, took a detour to practice martial arts for 10 years, then quit and returned to boxing. Can't box now, but love the sport. I don't watch every bout, though. Never have. If the boxers fighting aren't of any interest to me, I'll rather watch Dora The Explorer. I have missed many fights simply because I don't give a shit about those boxers. So I take my hat off to those of you who endure every shitty card on tv. Is like with movies. I love movies, but I don't watch every shitty movie that comes out only because is new.
Im in the same boat as Godfather. I watch the big fights whenever they feel like coming around, but really I just don't give a darn.
Boxing is the greatest sport. It is the ultimate test of skill and will. Nothing else comes close to big time boxing. The sweet science babe!
you know.. when people bitch and complain about boxing.. i think they are just not real boxing fans if you love it, you can go to any local gym in your city or fight out when some AM fights are happening, it is just great to watch the Top top TOP level has had some fights fall thru... so what? we'll still get great fights
It's not the first time that the sport has shot itself in the sport. As boxing fans we have been conditioned to expect and accept this, even if it is as frustrating as hell. You can lose the buzz a little, especially when these things happen quickly in succession...but it only takes a great fight, or a great upset for us to be reminded what a fucking awesome sport this truly is.
Boxing is the same as life,.. the capitalist sociopaths, preying on the apathetic,... "DRAINAGE!!!!" ... I watch certain fighters, but I dont invest a single penny into the sport, and I never will .
I come here to talk about boxing because it used to be great. There's nowhere else to go where I can have these conversations. But anyone who looks at the rapidly diminishing talent pool, the lack of general mainstream awareness and exposure, and the clear lack of compelling matchups and doesn't conclude that boxing is not 1/10th the sport it used to be is crazy
Boxing is and always will be my favourite sport. Good riddance to double L and Lb 4 Lb. ya'll 2 boxing crybabies won't be missed.
I agree with this, and with bigdawg and a few others on this topic. If you are "done" with boxing - then be done posting on this message board because none of us really want to deal withyou - we would rather keep following and discussing the best sport in the world!
You can be critical - but the title of your thread is "I'm done with this game." So fuck off and never come back, you won't be missed. Maybe I am just sick of people making threads about how they are done with this sport... if you are done, then go away. If you just think boxing has hit a lull for whatever reason, or you don't watch as many fights as you used to - you can post that all you want and i will stay out of that thread, and if i did chime in it would be to tell you to find another passion
Wow. You're pretty touchy for a fan of a sport that's never been better. Why the hostility? Is there a forum for people who are getting sick of boxing? That I don't know about? If not, I'm staying right here!
Edited and added this to my original post: Maybe I am just sick of people making threads about how they are done with this sport... if you are done, then go away.
