Good thing you're not making excuses. Morales deserved the decision. It was a competitive fight, but Morales was the clear winner.

Morales schooled the last trick pony. In his prime Morales would have taken him out.

I never argued that Morales didn't beat him.

But it's also fair to say that with promotional problems, pillow gloves, and moving up a weight class, Pacquiao didn't have everything going in his favor either. The fight was close too, 2 rounds isn't a big split.

That was the official score cards. Morales was the clear winner even giving away a round. I had it more than 2 rounds.

They both had pillow gloves, and moving up in weight class has never been an issue. Why is it an issue for Pacquiao for that fight only? But yet you give him credit for him beating Morales when it was clear Morales was killing himself to make weight? Morales hadnothing in his favor and that's why he lost. Come on. Morales was the better man and whupped him good. Pacquiao paid him back. it was good stuff

I think that loss added to Pacquiao's greatness. The adjustments he made from the first to second fight are insane. That's when the right hook was developed, and if you ask me, that's been his best punch ever since.

Yeah, the loss really inspired Pacquiao to improve as a fighter. Actually he knocked out Velazquez starting with a strong right hook in his next fight. You could tell he took the loss very seriously.

Well the right was developed for his first fight with Morales and it didn't do squat to Erik. However, against other fighters it worked well.

Morales clearly wasn't the same after the 1st Pac fight.

You'll have a hard time selling that shit anywhere.

Based on what? He was doing the same thing in the second fight as he did in the first. Manny was the big improver there and body shots wore Erik down.

Making 130 and coming off the loss to Raheem done that. Morales even said that Pacs pucnhes wasn't hurting him, he killed himself to make weight.

    i dunno
Manny made some adjustments after the first fight, but Morales was older and struggling at the weight more, and willing to trade much more

sure Manny has made some improvements, but quality of opposition needs to be considered as well

if Mayweather fights Pacquiao, and makes him look like the same Pacquaio from the first Morales fight, then that will give us a better indication

This was the closest thing to a natural Manny before he started heavily using roids.

Seriously, PED aside anyone who thinks Manny is the same fighter then as he is now needs to seriously learn something about boxing. I hate excuses. Manny, as good is he is, is a mental midget.I think Morales broke his will that night. Morales won the battle and lost the war. He was never the same after that and neither really was Pacman. He has been making adjustments in his fight plan, a more controlled aggression. He is kind of like a light armor unit. He gets in plants, unloads and gets out. The old Pacman was just a tornado with great speed. Still, hard to say it wasn't a huge win for Erilk. He is the only guy to beat Pacman in his absolute physical prime. No, Marquez didn't. Marquez got dominated in the first fight and lost a fight that could have gone either way in the rematch.

i look at it like this. if manny stayed at 126 or 130, he might have had a better chance of losing than to bigger guys like cotto and hatton. perhaps the move up in weight helped him improve in a sense that his got to hone his skills while not focusing much on making weight.

Yeah and he also has a very big speed advantage at the bigger weights. That and Peds probably:lol::lol:I agree with you though. It could be his people look at this runt of a man and just said, you can't be a welter even if you are. Then, they discovered he could be a welter even if he is.

The Morales win means nothing. According to Pac himself on ESPN.com he was weakened because he gave blood the day of the match.

lets face it if pacquiao had to give blood and wear winning gloves against david diaz he probably wouldve lost.

Due to the blood test and the cut Manny lost so much blood, he was pale like a ghost after the fight. It was so bad Arum called him Kelly for two weeks.
